Is this what you listen to? WOW... you're a fag
lol, I saw that coming

I think it's the unwritten duty of "pure" death/black/hardcore metalheads to call power metalheads fags. Or, really, any other kind of metalhead.

I personally like how you're a fag because of the bands NAMES and not nessecarily the music.

Anyway, I like all bands listed so far. No qualms with any of them, especially NW and BG, who are amongst the top... IMO, of course.

That might have something to do with the fact that I listen to all genres and treat them just the same though. It's really hard to pick out stuff you don't like unless they just plain, without a doubt suck for a fact, and no one's disbuting it.

Or, really, anything and everyone outside the realm of death/black/hardcore.

He can call me a fag if he wants, it won't change the fact that I'm not and have the right to call death/black/hardcore metalheads complete morons for thinking all metal has to be "heavy" (when, in all honesty, most of the stuff that's considered "heavy" is devoid of any real complexity or skill, it's just loud and repetitive). Particularly when less than 10% of them have even HEARD of power metal.

I bet you've never even listened to any of the bands I listed.

Also, way to fuck up the
tags there, buddy.

alright first of all you're the moron, second of all I have nothing against power metal, but I do have something against power metal that absolutely sucks (for instince all the bands you previously listed, try listening to some good power metal such as Unearth), third of all you obviously haven't seen any of the bands I have listed because they certainly aren't repetitive, and fourth of all if you ask anyone who knows anything about music in general to compare dragonforce vs. any of the bands I have ever listed on any forum they would probably laugh and spit in your face

why would they laugh and spit in anyone's face?...because Dragonforce is not as talented as the bands you listed?

Or is Dragonforce not hardcore enough for the forums you frequently visit?

I don't see where you are going with any of this, some bands you just cannot compare...their style is too different and their target audience just the same...

You can enjoy any power metal band just the same as the most hardcore black/death/viking/[insert hardcoregenre] band...it doesn't always have to be who is better...rather what you're in the mood for...

I have watched your posts for a while now, seeing where you will go next, but come on...

do not compare apples with tomatoes

and yeah, I enjoy the penis in my mouth..it's a requirement for any Gamma Ray fan

Loud + Repetetive = Orthrelm (especially Ov)

Just thought I'd mention that, I'm really not metal enough for this crowd :?

Going back to your post in the 'Metal!' thread, I can honestly say that despite the technical problems they had when I saw them at Wacken, I would rather see DragonForce for 45 minutes than Mortician over the same amount of time. The writing on DragonForce's second disc is fairly uninspired, but Mortician is repetitive to the point of becoming a running gag; they are alone with HammerFall (almost typed HammerFail there :P ) on my list of "bands you need one record from, but only one and it doesn't matter which". (HammerFall, on the other hand, I would rather repeatedly hit myself in the face with a brick rather than watch for another 60 minutes.)

Furthermore: the retarded attitude that only some kinds of metal are worthy and not others, no matter who holds it, is one of the dead-worst parts of the US scene, and one which I was glad to leave behind when I came to Europe. Nobody bitched about Accept and Machine Head headlining Wacken; only a few of us had problems with Stratovarius appearing on the Black Stage. Around here, it is acceptable and even normal to listen to a wide variety of metal subgenres; everyone has their preferences, but there is not the widespread attitude that people on the other end of the spectum are wusses or uncivilized (depending on perspective). It was precisely to blow up this kind of scene-fracturing, sectarian, idiotic thinking that Chuck took HammerFall on the last US tour that Death did; too little, too late, and the wrong band, but power metal as such hadn't taken off yet and DragonForce, Edguy and Sonata Arctica weren't really available.

Regardless of what "type", we are all fans of metal music.
