Nostalgic for Yesterday

Post by AngryManAnime » Tue Oct 04, 2005 11:34 pm

Well, after AMVer's block and other various complications I've managed to finish my new video. I'm fairly happy with how it turned out, and I'm storing away the FLCL DVD for a while now. :P

'As usual, I experimented with a variety of effects: newsprint, mattes, starglow, lens flare, page peel, luma key, blizzard, aged film, various blurs..etc Using 3dsmax to render the intro, crumpled paper, and some cloudy mattes; and FlashMX to create the audio scope matte. I did, however, try to deliver these effects in ocassional doses for those whom prefer oldschool style editing.'

Overall, I tryed to illustrate Naota's life and the desire to revisit those days. Using some interesting effects along the way. Some enhancing the animation with special lighting and some moving mattes to give more of a feel of motion. I tryed a more sentimental approach this time but still included some action scenes. Hope you all enjoy it. Comments are appreciated.

Okay, THAT was cool. And speaking as a big FLCL fan, thank you for making it nostalgic and not totally zany. I approve. :)

Again another fantastic video with great use of effects while at the same time keeping a progressive story. By far the best FLCL video i have seen next to "Absolute Destinys Shameless Rock Video".

Heh, you give me too much credit Leckie. I didn't use the zany angle on account of I don't really do comedy vids yet, Scintilla. After viewing FLCL a few times, although it is hilarious, I felt it deserved more depth. I was moreover experimenting in a lot of the effects, Dark-Krystal. Some effects turned out better than others, overall I was fairly happy with the look of it.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Keep 'em coming. :D
