Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
- Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
- Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
- When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
- Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Naruto flings his boogers at Sasuke
No, that's a fucking lie. I just said that because of something Castor said a long time ago. I bet he forgot, but LOOK WHO IS THE ONE WITH THE UPPER HAND NOW.
Anime: Erementar Gerad
Music: Masashi Hamauzu - Secret God's Flame
Video: Broken Past
I consider this video my personal "fuck you" to anyone I don't happen to like.
Also, if you happen to like the music, consider entering my contest. The grand prize is the Unlimited SaGa OST, which contains this music.

I can't believe you forgot both the audio AND the giant, throbbing penis...

The AVI version of this video has now been eliminated in favor of an encode that looks marginally better but is 100% less compatible.
Have a nice day.

H.264 motherfuckers, can you handle it?
http://www.kickassanime.org/wiki/index. ... le=Compack
This pack can, think of it as the amvapp of the video decoding world. 5MB, double click to install and you don't even need to review the settings, all the useful stuff is enabled by default (though I do recommend checking since there are options to turn tray icons off and make ffdshow "invisible")
In addition to being able to play MP4, it will also allow you to parse MKV and OGM, as well as decode a ton of other stuff like generic MPEG-4(SP) MPEG-4 ASP (DivX+XviD) MPEG-4 AVC (X264, the standard is called H.264). In addition to that it can also decode AAC, AC3, Vorbis, MP3, FLAC and DTS audio. It's possible to access other decoders, but they are slightly hidden away (ie in the FFDshow config itself as opposed to the CCCP installer, to prevent conflicts, b0rks etc.)
Oh yeah, it'll also play back softsubs.
For those of you who know anything about encoding/decoding, you can play this video with a minimum of FFDshow and Haali media splitter installed. FFDshow can handle H.264 and AAC audio, Haali will be able to split MKV and MP4.
If you want to check out the FFDshow and Haali install, a guide is here:
http://aflux.deltaanime.net/forums/inde ... wtopic=117
If anyone even considers whining about H.264/X264, it not being "stable" (it's currently at revision 315 and hasn't crashed since revision 80), it using more CPU power, etc. etc. Read this thread and be enlightened.
It's worth looking at anyway, I did some quality comparisons, playback benchmarks as well as discussed minimum requirements and some other stuff.
All hail the XviD and MP3 beater, and away to AVI hacks.
Welcome to the future
