I need help on making the next Tainted Donuts-like amv...
The following clip below is a mere 6 second clip that attempts to show the viewer exactly what I have in mind for my first big amv project. Keep in mind, I do realize that the clip itself needs some work, but I think it's good enough so that you'll get the idea.
What I'd like to know from some of you advanced amv makers (preferably those who are familiar w/ final fantasy 7 &8) are the following in particular;
1.) Does this look like a project that's even possible to make
2.)What are some of the latest programs that could possibly help me out with this project. (You don't have to mention premiere).
But any pointers anyone can give me is fine. I just really want a heads up and a point in the right direction. I'd hate to be several months into the project just to find out I screwed something up at the beginning that'll mess the rest up.
In case your curious, I used Macromedia flash to make what I have so far. But for some reason, I don't think this is the program I should be using.

It's only around 1500 kb so it should'nt take long for anyone to download. Just make sure you got that divx codec installed.
(PS:) Just to avoid any confusion; I don't have any intention of making an amv better than Tainted Donuts. I just simply wanted something to compare it too.

I completely agree with the first statement. That's why i was wondering if anyone could recommend a program to use best suited for that task. (This is my first time actually having to resort to photo editting to complete an amv.)Castor Troy wrote:It looks like it's off to a good start although I would recommend feathering the edges around Cloud a bit more.
Although I have no idea if you can pull it off due to the lack of FF8 footage.
As for the lack of FF8 footage;
I was thinking of somehow making the amv around this fight. I imagined it would only be a 2-3 minute amv where about 30 seconds or so, would be composed of nothing but editted frames, etc (since there's no way I could make an entire 2-3 minute amv revolve around that fight alone.)

I hate to quote myself but...
and btw, if you can post a link to some other amv's which have pulled this kind of thing off well, then I'd be very appreciative.sayde wrote:(PS:) Just to avoid any confusion; I don't have any intention of making an amv better than Tainted Donuts. I just simply wanted something to compare it too.

Let's see, there's Ghost Ship, and uh... Dragon Bebop Z Though the music is REALLY irritating in that one.
Can't forget Kragdrim's All For My Love.
I'm 100% sure that there are more good ones... but I don't know them off the top of my head O.o I started planning something like this myself, but I think it may be beyond my ability to pull off for at least another year or two.

Vlad's Transcending Love does it really well. Also Nappy's Chibi Things that Kill.
While it's not technically up to par as the others, Ghosts of Anime Past is a VERY interesting concept which I liked at AX2005. Definitely check it out.
