Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

AWA Expo 11 horror - Sundown in Caesarea

Post by Kai Stromler » Mon Sep 26, 2005 4:08 am

Sundown in Caesarea - eatdrinkbleedvomit
anime: Requiem From The Darkness [Hundred Stories]
music: "Where The Slime Live" by Morbid Angel
format: xvid/mp3 [68.5 MB]
download: indirect

This video was developed for AWA Pro, but I didn't make the deadline because it was too late to send media from Europe by deadline when I knew that I'd have a finished video on hand. It is absolutely not for children or those with weak stomachs. Anyone else is welcome to download it and join the deathcult.

I'm still without permanent hosting, so this is on Yousendit, with the normal rules (7 days/25 dls). If the link isn't working, say so and I'll repost it. I could theoretically have made this look better, but at an even larger filesize; the encode was originally produced for Connichi (which I ended up not submitting to for various reasons), and despite this being a six-minute video with an extremely high level of detail it still had to fit into 70 MB.

(incidentally, every other SH video not on local is also available through this mechanism by special request. post those through PM and not in this thread, though.)

Somehow this video is pretty funny, when I first saw your old RftD AMV I knew you'd make something like this in the near future. Too bad you didn't send it to the Connichi I guess the audience's reaction would've been pretty funny as well.

Can I quote you in the video description entry on this?

In truth, not all the sick parts in the video are original; as those who've seen Morbid Angel's official clip for this song probably picked up, the maggots crawling around the corpse's eye in that one series of shots are a tribute to a shot they had in there of a fly walking across a model's open eye in the original vid.

Of course, the mindset that says "cool" in response to a shot like that is admittedly pretty disturbed. Echt komisch, oder?
