There's alot to start from. What you really need to watch is is 'Dragonball' then 'Dragonball Z'

Now watch out for the movies cause they don't always coincide. Dragonball is the perfect starting point.

The japanese vocabulary in dbz isn't complex enough to translate to those words :P

Although "kuso" still equals feces, poop, or in other words, "shit", it can still be interpreted as "damn" in that expression.

Is it true that DBZ had some small/filler arcs cut from the original US releases?

I remember being told there was something about an invisible guy stalking people at Roshi's house. To make him visible they had Bulma tease Roshi till his nose bled excessive amounts and splattered all over the guy... and probably everything else too.

Wouldn't suprise me if that turned out to be some bunk info. ;) Maybe it was from Dragonball instead...

Mostly just small filler eps. Although even in the censored episodes, they left an entire filler arc in (although some parts of the eps had non-filler in them which is why they were somewhat important).

I'm pretty sure the invisible guy thing was fake. :P

That Invisible guy thingy is actually true, but that was at Uranai Baba's place, and it was in DB, Not DBZ.

Anyway, DBZ may not have the best plot, but it's actually entertaining, and all in all, it is what got me into Anime, So I can't do anything but like it.

I personally don't know much about the american version, since I've only watched the uncut episodes (Or however you want to call them...)

I totally missed those eps then. :x

If anyone watches the ultimate uncut ep on thursday night (which should be when Vegeta finds out Gohan stole his dragonball), pleeeease tell me how Chris Sabat (Vegeta's current voice actor) performs the "wrath scene". I'll be away at AWA and won't be able to catch it. :(

The scene is Vegeta swimming in the lake and finding out Gohan stole his dragonball. He bursts up from the lake and ends up going into this crazy rage afterwards and starts screaming his head off. This scene was super amazing in the old censored dub and I wanna know if Chris Sabat will give the scene any justice.

Oh, man... that was *the* scene when even the Drummond-haters took a step back and said "<I>Whoa...</i>." Easily one of the most amazing individual performances I've ever heard in an English dub, hands down.

Chris is a nice guy, and all, but there's not a chance in HFIL he's going to even compare to that. I really haven't seen much of these re-dubs (it's too much, personally, to destroy those old fond memories I have from a decade ago with the piss-ass performances), but I know that Chris' Vegeta lately is just... uhhhh.....

I can tell Chris is trying to sound less "cartoony" and more casual but he seems to be coming off more like "I don't care". His Piccolo just seems so dull and doesn't have the "umph" that Scott McNeil gave him. :?

His Vegeta is a little more decent and I'll agree with you that he won't pull off the wrath scene as well as Drummond did.

Nah, it wasn't as great as Drummond's(even though I've never seen it). That was just weak, right there. I didn't feel the emotion.
