First AMV. Advent Children (A good one!)
Don't mean to brag, but this IS what you've been waiting for, an advent children AMV thats actually good. Sorry to those who've tried. (I just really hate angsty goth blog rock)
Aaaanyways, since I'm new here, not sure exactly how to linky. Perhaps It would be in my profilio yo? If not, its called advent children - kadaj.
The music is FAST, the imagry is FAST, and I'm about to fall FAST asleep cause I was up all night making it.
Enjoy, comments welcome.

I actually took offense to that comment. But despite that, I'm willing to tell you what I honestly thought of this amv.Digital Mantra wrote:Don't mean to brag, but this IS what you've been waiting for, an advent children AMV thats actually good. Good points:
-Unique song
-Effective use of certain scenes, and scene transitions to match the beats
-Effective use of movie makers special effects.
-Overall, the action and clips really did a good job at being in synch with the song. Good job there.
Bad points:
-The first thing that bugged me was the fact that you called it "Kadaj", but did'nt show much of him for an amv that was called "Kadaj".
-The next thing that bothered me (though this kind of goes back to the former problem) is that half your amv was based off of one fight scene that had hardly ever showed Kadaj. There was an entire fight scene between Cloud and Kadaj. Why did'nt you use it?
-Third problem is that it felt like you hardly editted that fight. It could be a good thing and a bad thing actually. It's good because the way you managed to do it really did match up with the music, but I kind of looked down upon it because once again, (comming from soneone who saw the movie as well) the fight scene looked and felt like it was barely editted. I might have actually been able to get passed it providing you used a fight scene related to Kadaj. Sorry.
Overall: You displayed that you clearly know how to synchronize your scenes with the music you choose. I can't say the vid had nothing to do w/ the song because you chose an instrumental, but I can say the vid had nothing to do with the title. You might want to think about renaming your amv to "Another Advent Children action amv" or something like that (oh... the irony) because in all honesty, it did'nt seem that much better than the one I did.
Just because you chose a different type of song and actually managed to sychronize everything nicely does not instantly make your amv the most unique or the best of all the others. But rest assured that I'm not labeling you a noob. I'm just slightly angered at that statement you made. Some of us really worked hard on our Advent Children amv's.

sayde, thankyou for your honest comments! I really appreciate it (and I'm not being sarcastic)
But the editor must defend himself! First off, the fight was glorious, and It wasnt just one fat reel with some flashes during the snares. I selected the best scenes for the best parts. End of story, Watch AC again if you honestly doubt that.
Secondly, I must agree with you, I should not have called it Kadaj, but I did. So deal with it. Theres plenty of him, and he's the one that transitions the scenes. Essentially the storyline of that amv illustrates where he gets his raw power from, how he uses it, and then how it destroys him.
But really, thanks again, I do love constructive critisism. Link me to your amv if you like. Better yet I could just find it myself. Seeing as thats what I made you do
sorry, heh.

I'm not doubting you. And I must say I tried to be very careful with how I worded my previous post by telling you it "felt" like there was hardly any editting rather than saying there flat out "was'nt" much editting. What I stated was merely my opinion and I stand open for correction on that.First off, the fight was glorious, and It wasnt just one fat reel with some flashes during the snares. I selected the best scenes for the best parts. End of story, Watch AC again if you honestly doubt that.

That makes sense and I must recommend that you add that to your description of the amv in the near future. It's important to know exactly where your coming from.Theres plenty of him, and he's the one that transitions the scenes. Essentially the storyline of that amv illustrates where he gets his raw power from, how he uses it, and then how it destroys him.
Hey, it's no problem whatsoever. Just keep in mind that if you do decide to watch my amv and leave an op, I'm being 100% open as to the fact that it's a complete action amv with hardly any story behind it. I made a topic on the op exchange board. Feel free to leave your opinion there if you want, though your welcomed to leave an op the normal way.But really, thanks again, I do love constructive critisism. Link me to your amv if you like. Better yet I could just find it myself. Seeing as thats what I made you dosorry, heh.

dear sayde, as you can tell, I'm not that good with specific quotes yet, infact better yet, I'm too lazy.
I do apologize for my first posts comment, I heard from another member that the advent children videos thus far have been (in what i interpreted as) shoddy and rushed. I hadn't seen yours yet, but I am watching it now
Who knows, maybe I'll drop off an opinion.
AS CRITICALLY INTENSE AS POSSIBLE
no, just kidding.

It's not a big deal if you don't know how to quote comments from other people or if your too lazy. I hold no grudge. Just to make this clear, the real reason why I got offended to your first post is because of this line:

You basically described the song I used perfectly so I had actually thought you already watched it. Maybe it might be better if you skip my amv instead...Digital Mantra wrote:Sorry to those who've tried. (I just really hate angsty goth blog rock)

Oh hell no! I was referring to new age teen music, like LP or some other post-punk metal rap whatever garbage. That song was Fuhquing awesome! One of the singers soooo sounded like Bruce from Iron Maiden.sayde wrote:You basically described the song I used perfectly so I had actually thought you already watched it. Now, as for your video. It was great, well synced and I'll bet allot more time went into it than mine, seeing as you used the entire film as a fast paced montage. I was going for a storyline that someone could just follow and understand at the level and pace of events.
Super well done man. Both our viddy's rock. Let us both be the best, cast aside your supressed narcissism. let us take this site over! oh wait, lunch..

Thanks a lot for your time and commentary. I have to admit, I'm both relieved you were able to keep an open mind while viewing my amv and I'm impressed with the level of maturity you ended up displaying. (Cause I have to admit, I totally got the wrong impression of you from your first post).
I stand completely corrected. You seem like a pretty cool person who's can take constructive crtisism very well. I respect that. There's no need to reply to this post if you don't want to. (I gotta go now anyways.)
