RPBP IV: Mama

Music: Kin-Dza-Dza (Movie Soundtrack)
Anime: FLCL

****

FOR NON-HIPPES: ALARM! ALARM!
VIDEO IS SO WEIRD AND CRAPPY THAT I HAVE TO TYPE IN ALL CAPS SO YOU REALIZE THAT I'M NOT EVEN KIDDING.

Approach with caution.

********

Good evening hippies.

I'll make no mysteries about the premise here:

-Video by Otohiko, part of the RPBP "project"
-First video by Otohiko to use "foreign-language "music""
-Using the "soundtrack" from a 1980's Soviet Sci-Fi cult film that looks like it was made in the 50's. And yes, that is actually the ONLY "music" in the movie, if you can believe that.
*Kin-Dza-Dza is actually and seriously Otohiko's all-time favourite movie...
-The primary transition in use for managing cuts in the video is Barn Door Wipe.

As always, RPBP proudly pushes the boundaries of what is possible in AMV, in the wrongest possible sense.

Watching under influence strongly suggested but in no way encouraged.

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

If JBone, Richard Kelly, and Jean-Michel Basquiat had a baby, it'd be this video.

What.... the.... what did I just watch, besides a Recycled Penis Boobies ProjeKct. A very interesting concept, but I think it went on a bit long for just MAMA. Whatever happened to RPBP: III anyways, you did I, II and then just went for IV.

Does this movie happen to have a english version or at least english subs? I'm disappointed with american cinema and looking for something new.

Now starting: the Coalition To Prevent Release Of Videos Requiring Chemical Participation On Mondays Because Some Of Us Have To Work And Stuff. If you wish to join, sign below.

There will be no official CTPROVRCPOMBSOSHTWAS sigbanner, but it will still be a good idea. And there will be no official CTPROVRCPOMBSOSHTWAS AMV, though participation in this coalition will lead to my next video being released this Friday instead of next Monday.

On the other hand, releasing a video like this on Monday is an excellent way of reminding people like me that there is nearly no alcohol in their fridge, and this needs to change by the weekend. 5/5.

I feel strangely aroused.

In the RPBP world, III comes somewhere after XXL

Unfortunately, no; the only other country where it has been officially released is, surprise surprise, Japan. (there's a nice Japanese Kin-Dza-Dza site here for those who happen to be in that area - http://www.pan-dora.co.jp/kin-dza-dza/ ). I even wanted to do a "fansub" of this movie at one point, but unfortunately I can't get a good, "non-bootlegged" source :(

Screencaps here

Otherwise, the only English info to be found on it is here.

The movie actually makes a surprising amount of social/political/philosophical sense, despite its' absurd appearance (or perhaps because of it).

I should have considered this. However, the videos themselves are easier to work with on weekends, for some because weekends are a good time for chemical participation (or in my case, just for participating in my own chemicals - I'm starting to think my own hormones are enough to induce hallucinations sometimes).

I can work for prevention though. Incentives will be accepted.

(and yes, your video will most definitely be a welcome thing for chemical participants this friday)

I don't know about anyone elde but this is about the funniest thing I've ever seen.

I nearly fell offmychair laughing and acidently woke up my brother at 1 in the morning. |(Now that I think about it, lack of sleep may have something to do with my reaction.

It did go a little long, the first half was better. Especialy "rrrrrrr" and Naota standing at the RR tracks. Lipsynch=Teh Win.

Best use of backwards footage ever.

Best use of ban door wipe ever too, but that's not really something to write home about, considering that it has been nominated for most ass ugly transition several years running.

|The music, it's, it's just so bad. It defies the laws of physics...
