Suggestions for "quick video comment" area

Nice! A few questions:

I left a couple of 10-15 sentence comments, can the creator even read it all? Have I streched their page all to hell? Or pushed other comment off?

As much as I would like to see names, I think anonymity is best for this site overall, nothing wrong with signing mine though, right?

Can't quite agree with that since I'd have to consider things such as the donught and AD's guide, but it's definatly up there.

An archive system, and vid info page displays both sound like good ideas to me. I'm sure now that it is implemented, it will be refined over time.

That's fine. The display page can handle it without breaking. The only drawback is that you have to put it all on one line to enter it. The way I figured it was that if you were going to put that much effort in to a comment, it's probably worthy of a full opinion review.

I love the new system and I think it would be a great addition to the "My Downloads" page.

If there is no comment then a link to add a quick comment would be nice for the videos that you downloaded before this system was put into place.

If there is a comment it would be nice to display it under the video info/links.

Unrelated but something I desire for that page regardless of the suggestions above: display only 50 download info per page and change the default sort order to the date downloaded. I have 1300+ downloads and that page is almost a megabyte in size... Seems unnessesary to show all the downloads by default. Perhaps paging with an option/link to display all downloads on a single page view.

Yeah, I've been considering adding this for a while.

I have about 900 downloaded, and that page doesn't really bug me all that much (I even kind of like having everthing in one spot for me to just control+f). So while having downloads go on to additional pages might be nice, 50 per page seems pretty small to me. I'd rather have maybe one or two hundred at a time.

Yeah it is, I forgot how little 50 actually is for something like this. At the time, I was trying to keep in mind my other suggestions since quick comments would make the page larger as well. ...though 100 or 200 would likely be fine also.

Well I already got one, it was kinda vague, but after discussing it with some guys on IRC...thinking it over in my head, Some feed back is better that just the stars... and It's feedback I'd probably not be getting otherwise because they wouldn't fill out a full opinion anyway.

All in all I like this new feature.

Wouldnt u like to tell everyone that u like the amv? When i see an opinion was made on a amv i am about to dl i usually look at them and download even if they say its crappy. i like private messages..(got one already)...they keep bad commments weeded out unless the person wants to be evil and put up an op saying it sucks.

Yeah, I haven't left an opinion in a year and a half but I thoroughly enjoy leaving these little comments. A lot of the time it is a simple suggestion on what they should improve on or something. I don't feel compelled to write a full fledged op just so I can leave something like that. When I actually do leave ops I go in depth.
