Even if some ppl were sure it wasn't your style (and told me when i watched the dvds), i was sure it was your vid.

Very impressive work, definately one of the best vids this year ;)

Yeah, why would Vlad use Sailor Moon? :P

I had guessed either you or Janzki for this video. It was easily one of my favorites, as I'm a huge Astro Boy fan. EXCELLENT job!!

Mine was the Paranoia Agent one, number 51. No nods, but hey, I didn't expect them -- my first time in, and there are people who've taken longer on singler videos than I've been at this at all. Congrats and good luck to the finalists.

Do people here think the blind judging aspect mattered much, except to add the fun of a guessing game? For myself, I'm not sure that it made a difference, but it feels like it might have. For example, for a couple of the videos done by people commenting in this thread, I pegged the editor immediately, expected to like their work and did. The blind judging didn't make any difference there. But a couple of the other people, before this, I would have said "Well, I'm honest enough to admit that person X and person Y are more skilled than me, but their work just leaves me cold." But, as it turns out, I love X's entry and Y's entry. I really wonder if it matters that had I seen X's and Y's names attached to them, I'd have gone in with expectations of "I'll be impressed but I won't like it."

I personally didn't bother to do much guessing while judging. Occationally I had a feel that 'this was so and so's', but I knew I could always be wrong, so it was more, 'this is in the style of so and so'. I judged without knowing who did what.

Actually, I think it keeps away all the "Oh such and such only won because he has random number of friends who entered as well' and "Random person only got in the finals because he's a Big Name editor"; much like how Otakon Yahoo groups got plagued with this year.

And I admit, my first year, it was kinda fun to guess who did what video. Too bad I was completely wrong on every one so far ^_^; .

... despite the fact that the Otakon prescreenings were also judged blind. -_-**

I swear, some people. But that's a different topic.

I didn't do much guessing myself; I only guessed Beowulf, Vlad, and M&M. Oh yeah, and the one I thought could be Gambitt or AD but I wasn't sure which. (Though I'm probably wrong on that one.)
Hito's I got when I saw his Org avatar in the credits (oops!), and I already knew about "The Purpose of Persocoms" from having seen it on the AX list.

Well, there's a better than even chance you'll be able to figure out which video was mine. Had to do it this way because none of the footage I wanted to use is available commercially yet... well, except a second or two.

Not going to bash anyone's vid here even though voting is done. If you find my LJ though, you'll see my less positive side there.

I'd pretty much guessed about Walter's Astro boy vid. I remembered his amazing Rose of Versailles vid from last year's expo so that was a big clue.

Guessed Vlad's vid just due to his addiction to City Hunter and desire to combine different anime.

Those were a couple faves as well as the Getter Robo vid (which fucking rocked and truly captured the spirit of that show) the FF8 one (congrats Lynn, you made me not totally hate Final Fantasy anymore), the cromartie dance and the Bobby Mcferrin one. Voted for all these in some way.

Anyways, see y'all at the con. And maybe I'll have a decent vid for ye. Peace.
