I think all of us full-well realize legal implications of AMV's on TV.

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

kinda and kinda not, I mean theres proly someone in the anime industry that could proly pull some strings and get them aired with the anime in question. Like for one, I would love on the breaks in between toonami to see random amvs. Kinda like they used to do with the gundum and such back in the day. As expected there will be some cock blockers but hey it would be fun to see.
The other +/- is that we get more ppl to the org, and that can equal more shitty vids or more good ones.

I suspect that if that happened communities like the .org would get shafted pretty hard. Are you willing to 'take one' for the team? Sit in court and defend your hobby? Go to jail because you think what you're doing 'should' be allowed....?
So, while animation companies are fully aware of the small niche communities (they have booths at conventions that show AMVs after all), and give a provisionally blind eye to the subject I doubt that the litigation happy player in the riaa, and the firms that payout huge licensing fees for these shows will be as pleased. It would be cool, but it would also be a death knell.

Build a man a fire, and he will be warm for a night. Set a man on fire, and he will be warm for the rest of his life.

If we all "full-well realized legal implications of AMVs", we clearly wouldn't get brain-dead threads like this so often.Otohiko wrote:I think all of us full-well realize legal implications of AMV's on TV. :?

Re: what do you think of anime music videos [on TV?]
Unless it's made by the network, anime company, the originators (the Japanese artists and companies that actually made the anime), or the musical artists themselves, it ain't gonna happen. The only musical artists (that I know of) that have used anime for a music video have been Ghostface Killah f. Raekwon with their song "Daytona 500", and Daft Punk with "Faster, Better, Stronger" (correct me if I got the name of that song wrong). I'm not sure about Linkin Park's videos to "Pts.of.Athrty" or "Breaking The Habbit" (being that it was done by GONZO). Not sure about any of the videos by the Gorillaz.humanwolf wrote:should they put music videos of anime on tv like they do for many others. i think they should there is so much good art out there people should see and listen to tell me what you think or tell me what you think of anime music videos today

Add Michael and Janet Jackson's Scream to that list.
If you really want the amvs on tv just make a dvd or vcd. It's simplier, you can watch what you want to watch, and you won't get in any immediate trouble if you keep it to yourself. Besides, there are all those conventions where you can see amvs in a movie theatre setting that is so much better than tv.
