Anime Studio Produced AMVs

Post by taeli » Thu Aug 18, 2005 6:54 am

Anyone got any fave 'official' AMVs? They don't seem to get too much time here.

Personally I love In The Evening of the Moonlit Night in Studio 4C's Digital Juice compilation [download]. It's rather beautiful IMHO and is remarkably detailed. Definitely worth a watch for anyone interested on how an AMV where the animation is solely for the vid could look.

I think there's a Ghibli and a Gainax vid too which are fairly popular. Anyone wanna provide links?

I also quite like the amv that is the last third of the Utena film too :)

We're talking about the AMVs that anime-creators themselves make, right?

Aaanyways, I'd have to vote for the vids on the "Weiß Kreuz Music Clips Animation" DVD. Especially Tokyo Swing. ^^

I didn't know there were so many, I know the ones on the cowboy bebop movie aren't that good. And I just recently saw a Ghost in the Shell 2 amv dvd retail. Has anyone seen that yet?

Hmm, there are D.N. Angel music videos found in some of the later volume DVDs, but those were kind of meh (on the plus side, I can use the actual music for....stuff 8-) ).

Though the one cool video I saw is the one OtakuforLife posted, and it's a whole Ayumi Hamasaki video that's animated bu Studio 4C.

Then there a few CLAMP videos I saw like CLAMP in Wonderland and Wish. Those were cute.

Most of the music videos on dvds aren't very good at all in my opinion. Though I know their are probably some that are good.

On volume 7 of the Noir dvd I think I can't remember. There's a easter egg where you can watch Noir music videos. But I can't remember what it was. They weren't very that good. And if I remember there was someone from this site that made a noir mv and it's on the dvd. But I can't remember who.

Me, AD, dokidoki and Nightowl each made one for the DVD. If you go to a certain chapter of the DVD, pressing up, left, right, or down on your DVD remote will access one of the videos. There are instructions in our video profiles.
I have no idea how to use this new forum.

Also, in our defense, we were given heavy restrictions...we could only use the OP or ED songs, and we weren't allowed to manipulate footage. Cuts and fades only. Also, none of us had really seen the show, and we only had a couple of days to do it.

One of the more famous ones is On Your Mark - original animation by Miyazaki (or at least Ghibli, I'm not 100% sure), music by Chage and Aska. It's P2P-able and very good.

CLAMP also has a character profile AMV for Hikaru, Umi and Fuu (and IIRC Mokona too) and X AMV with music by X Japan. There also might be a second CLAMP in wonderland AMV, but I'm not sure about that.

Please Save my Earth has some official AMVs with music from the show, like "time of gold flowing" and "Dream's home". What bugs me is that one of the songs used (Enju's theme) in those AMVs can't be found in any of the 3 CDs :\

If you want to count "Gainax's" DaiCon promo vids as AMVs then there's those too.

Oh sorry about that I forgot. I didn't mean it in no mean way or anything. But I understand =)
