Login Trouble

Post by [Mike of the Desert] » Sun Aug 07, 2005 4:15 pm

A friend cannot login himself since a lot of time and today asked me to ask what this message (that show up when he try to log) means:

Authentication failed - no site cookies detected. Please re-login to refresh your session. If you are sent to this page directly after logging in then you need to enable cookies in your web browser. Please refer to the Login Trouble? page for more information.

I am not been able to answer him, how this problem can be resolved?

Did he make sure his browser is set to accept cookies? If he's using Internet Explorer, this means he should go to the 'internet options' and to 'privacy' and set it to 'accept all cookies' when he's on this website. He may also need to clear his cookies - in 'internet options' hit 'delete cookies', and 'settings' - 'view files' and then delete any that remain. Then try to log in again.

Or...he can try using a different browser. Opera or firefox seem most common.
