One other thing I forgot earlier- in your write-up you mentioned Chiyo being referred to as 'Chiyosuke' (it's not just Yukari of course- Tomo almost exclusively calls her this, and even Yomi on occasion) being funny because of it being an older male's name instead of a little girl. I always interpreted it (and still found it quite funny) as a play on the word 'chibisuke', which I understand essentially translates to 'little brat'. I've never read the translated manga (I own but of course, not being able to read Japanese, haven't actually read the original...) to have seen the Chihuahua line, it sounds amusing.

Yeah, I'm going by the translation notes that ADV provided, but you bring up a really good angle, and if you consider a chihuahua a little brat of a dog, that works, too.
