I see you have mastered the white flash, lens flare, and tinting footage as you repeat the exact same scene over and over. Congrats but I gotta wonder, why no shatter effect? Was it too difficult to figure out?

I don't have a grudge against Sammy, I've never really interacted with him before. I admit I'm kinda looking forward to his reply since I find a nice rant amusing even if it's directed at me. I imagine I'll get a good laugh in a few days when I'm bored at work and catch up on his journal.

However don't make the mistake of thinking my comment was just to rile him up. Lens flare, pure white flashes, and other really blatent effects are a pet peeve of mine (yes, I've done them myself so I'm a hypocrite. Oh well.) I don't like his video because I don't like those elements he used, although at least he used them in an unusual way so I don't think the video sucks more than Richard Simmons in the mens locker room either. What I said is a perfectly accurate summery of what I thought of the video. Hell, it isn't even the worse thing I've said about someones video but I save the mean spirited shit for videos that make me wish physical harm on the editor and that wasn't the case here.

Since the grudge comment was probably as much about Sammy's rep as it was about my comment I will say that I find his reputation rather overblown. When he acts egotistical I get the feeling he's just fucking around. My joking is routinely far crueler than anything he's said so I can't agree that he's an asshole since that leaves no word to describe me. He isn't always wrong either, I almost always agree with him about what videos are overrated. And he also isn't as bad an editor as some like to pretend, despite not liking this video I do think it's better than much of what makes the top 10% list. This was definately better than Naruto's Technique Beat for example and that's currently rated the #3 vid on the site (incidently, in it's announcement forum I described it as something a winamp visualization fucked up and barfed all over so see, it's not just Sammy I'm a dick to).

Me too.

I mean, yeah, it was very well edited... but it didn't seem to live up to the hype, to me.

Universes better than anything I'll ever do, though. >>' So who am I to judge?

As for Sammy, I'll watch his video when I have the bandwidth to download it; I've got dial-up here. I've only seen History of Anime, about a year or two back, and I loved it. Didn't realize who made it until now, though. Funny how life is.
