Jet Audio for me, its playlist is very user friendly and you can mess around with the sound settings unlike most players.

I use BSPlayer for watch Animes and AMV.
I never had problems with it and it has got a lot of useful features

Do you move the progress bar often to skim through video? That's always been my big problem with VLC... but i still use it form time to time to check the validity of video files while in the middle of downloading.

Yeah I do skim a bit, but I never have any problems with video that's on my harddrive. The only time I ever have skipping problems or delays is when I try to view video directly from our home file server or from my roommates' comps. But that's because I'm using wireless internet. When I was hooked up by ethernet to the router, then I had no problems.

I use DivX Player when I can, and Media Player when I can't.

Also, Michele, if you are using the ffdshow codec that came with AMVApp 2.1 (20050117), AMVs that call the ffdshow VFW configuration will crash Media Players 9 and 10. (You can tell when WMP calls ffdshow by the "FF" icons showing up at the right of your toolbar next to the clock.)

There are new builds of ffdshow available on their website (http://ffdshow.sourceforge.net/tikiwiki ... ticles.php) that have fixed the problem with crashing the Media Player. The only thing that seems to happen, though, is reinstalling the ffdshow VirtualDub plugin with VirtualDubMod doesn't seem to work.

So, you can install the above if you don't use the ffdshow program to encode / decode with, otherwise stick with the current version and use DivX Player or Media Player Classic.

The problems i was refering to were mostly key-frame related (until you hit a key frame, garbled footage is displayed)... I probably have an older version of VLC though... did they fix that?

I'd assume so. I don't really know. The only times I see garbled footage is if the file is incomplete. Like, VLC will let me watch bits of files that aren't completely downloaded. Then I'll see about half the screen sometimes, and the bottom half will look like it's melting. It would be an awesome video effect, I can tell you that much!

Media Player Classic 90% of the time, WMP 10 or VLC once in a while if MPC has any trouble with it.

I personally Like The Core media player the best so far, and had the least amount of problems with it. Before that I used to use BsPlayer primarily, and the 2 have alot of similarites. I just like the picture quality and layout of The Core a little better. But I have not tried media player classic yet.
