Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

No effects? Maybe a lack of variety, but most of the video was 'altered' with masks. I liked them. My only complaint about the flickering was that the scenes went by very quickly at times, reminded me of an old projection film where it flashes to black between each frame. If it hadn't gone completely to 'black' between each picture, it wouldn't have been so flashy. I actually had more trouble with the 'between' sections - the colored scenes had a rough feel to them, like they were faded into each other so much they weren't really matching any specific beat. If they were synced to the sound of the lyrics, nevermind.

The mood was very good, though I haven't read the lyric translation yet. You should put the translation on the vid description page. I like how the story was broken down into themes, especially the scenes of Yuki's fiance, who almost never gets shown in shonen ai amvs (she's a good source of angst), and the way the video followed the general storyline of the anime - like it's summarizing the story without all the slapstick humor.

Overall: Pretty. The editing (masks) alone mark it as a unique shonen ai drama/romance vid. The angsty but sweet theme is another plus. ^.^

I actually downloaded it when it was up on "new vid on the block" - I've only seen a couple Gravitation videos, so I'm not really sure what's considered original and what isn't, but I really enjoyed it :D

It seems I'm addicted to making flashy effects. I've been thinking about oldfilm filters etc. as well but it wouldn't have matched the lyrics very well.

And yes, the between sections were most likely intended to be storytelling only and I didn't work hard enough on making the fades match the beats. But sometimes it's on-beat....by accident :p

I really would never have expected everyone to be enjoying the fact that I put the whole video in the more serious mood since Gravitation is quite comedy packed. As already said - the angst parts and also the part with Yukis fiance are my favorites - not the slapstick. That's why I had to do a video to them since barely someone did that in their AMV's. And yeah, I'll add the translation after posting this.

It seems german titles are catchy for the "new vid on the block"-section hehe. Thanks, I'm really happy about all the good reactions.

I never thought I would get so many people to post in this
(So to all the guys that told me to open the thread - you were right)
