It's Studio Gibili(sp) : The Cat Returns
Music, Only If - By Enya

I thought we could use some more light hearted fun stuff to watch. It's short, but (hopefully) well done. Enjoy!

Wow, that was very good video quality :)

I thought the synch was well enough done, but a lot of parts didn't really feel like they fit the mood of the music... the one that comes to mind right now is the scene with the white cat and the big ol' black bird and the girl riding the stream of cats down the street. Especially when the white cat hit the ground: it was right on the beat, but the tone of the music doesn't really call for something that funny.

Though I do think that the ball scene was well placed where it was, over the French bridge.

Knowing the song, I expected something inspirational and kinda dreamy, and I got something that looked like a plot summary (I've never seen The Cat Returns).

And you know, I've always thought I could really like this song, if only Enya hadn't pronounced "comme" as if it was spelled "commé". That grates with me every time. :P

In short: looked nice and all, but I guess I didn't get it. :?:

Thank you for watching.

And your running into my music video 'style' as it were. I am trying to start a trend of "Encapsulated" AMV's where the music video is ABOUT the series.

I was trying to match musical tone "Only if you want to can you sieze the day" and what came to mind was "To the RESCUE" a once more into the breach dear friends.

And you said that you had heard this music before, how did I do on cutting down the song length (I dropped a little over a minute of music)?

Yar, I suppose I'll be about getting this video. I can't pass up cats and Enya. Tell you what I think tomorrow.

Oh yeah, I somehow forgot to mention that. Pretty seamless audio edit, I didn't notice it until it was past and I realized a chunk had been skipped. :)

I liked it very much. As with Scintilla, I would say that a few parts didn't capture the mood of the song exactly, but it wasn't enough for me to really think less of the video. It is a light-hearted song, and the video itself was very light-hearted but spattered with a few comical parts. I like your editing style; it's very simple and uncluttered but with a sort of inherent internal sync that makes it flow nicely.

I have to say, though, my favorite part was the end. Perfect way to end that video, I must say.

And the footage, as Scintilla said, was amazing. That is great quality, and the song was short enough so that the download didn't take too long (56k here). Speaking of length, that was a great length for a video of that pace. Much longer would have dragged on, and any shorter would have been unsatisfying. Also, the audio edit was very smooth, I didn't notice it at all. I have also heard this song before.

All in all I'd give it 4.5 stars, and place it among my favorite light-hearted, relaxing videos.
