Do you HAVE to use RAW anime for AMV?

Post by shini_d » Sun Jun 12, 2005 5:38 am

I made a new amv, problem is I don't know if I can view it because, I took clips from Anime, but it has subs and everything.

Do I have to use RAW anime for amv?
If I do where do you suggest I get them from? For Prince of Tennis btw.

Well, you don't have to, but nobody likes ridicule.

ridicule? Do you mean people just hate seeing all the words all over the bottom of the screen or something?

Unintentional subs on AMVs are icky icky icky! ><

But no, you don't need raw footage. You can either:

A, work around the subtitles and pic 'clean' clips to use or

B, make a fake widesceen/letterbox effect to hide the subs

C, masking ;)

If you used download footage you can use everything you want, but Raws if subtitles are are a problem for you of course are better. Anyway, buy Dvds and read the guides for get footage from them is always the best thing :)

I don't use raw stuff. I just work around the subtitles and nix out subtitled clips. Of course, I prefer dubs over subs- so using the English dub track without subtitles just comes naturally for me.
