I'm having a Hell of a time getting the new Netstream 2000 to run on this computer. I previously had a Hollywood card installed, which has always run with absolutely no problems.
I got the Netstream. Took out the Hollywood, put in the Netstream no problem. Problems arose trying to use the drivers that came with it. Lots of strange errors. Long story short, I've since re-installed the newest drivers directly from the Sigma Designs site.
The drivers installed fine, the applications installed fine (this hadn't been so with the original drivers, so that was a good sign). Before I re-installed these new drivers, I wasn't even able to open MPEG-1s and MPEG-2s, anymore (I *can*, again, so this is also a good sign). Interestingly, I have the sound coming directly out of the Netstream right now... and when I play MPEG-2s in WMP6.4, it knows to play the sound for the file out through the Netstream (only for MPEG-2s, not MPEG-1s).
When I go to load up the "REALmagic Configuration," I get the error:
Unable to open. A driver instance may already be in use.
Googling this error brings up very little. MCIPlay2 simply goes wonky and says:
MMSYSTEM281: This file could not be played. Check the filename or install a driver that supports this type of file.
I'm running Windows 98, I've installed the latest drivers and applications from the Sigma Designs site, etc. I'm wondering how much of the problem has to do with the fact that there was previously a Hollywood card in here.
Any suggestions would be great!

Well, I've fixed it!
Sure enough, it seems that the baggage from previously having the Hollywood card installed was causing some internal conflicts. I followed the directions for a "clean install" over on this site. When I rebooted, it did (as normal) ask for the drivers and such for the "New Hardware Found".
The tip-off that it was going to work was after the drivers had installed fine, and I was installing the "applications," again. Previously, they had said "REALmagic Hollywood" on the Setup screen. This one actually said "REALmagic Netstream 2000". w00t.
None of those weird errors, anymore. Calibration goes fine. Set the output no problem. MCIPlay2 plays with no problems. Fantastic no-video-signal-reset between videos with the Netstream.
Huzzah. Hopefully someone may find this useful for themselves at some point in the future :).
