you can more or less tell how many local downloads people have just by looking at their star ratings.

let's turn this thread into something less pointless. what videos have gotten more downloads than you expected, or less than you expected? why do you think they did?

Wish I could expand on this more, but I really can't. My downloads? Ranging between 143 and 1036, with the average of just over 300 per video.
What do I think of it? I'm surprised I have more than 5 to 12 on any of them. I didn't have any aspirations for public's attention etc., so all of this is obviously quite curious, from my perspective...

ok.. im at a complete loss as to why that vid dowmload number is nearing 900 wen it completely sux... especially wen the two vids i consider my best ones dun even have half as much..

My top downloaded videos are the ones with 20+ anime in them - just like they get the most hits - because they show up on searches most often. Most of them have lower star scores since they don't appeal to half the people downloading them in hopes of seeing one of the lesser-used anime listed for the vid (the reasons it showed up on the searches).

Next are my YYH vids, that being the most popular anime I use. Surprisingly enough, my yaoi romance vids - Kurama/Hiei - get the most downloads, and the highest consistent star/opinion scores. After the romance are my YYH comedy vids and character profiles, then the one or two general action vids. The comedy vids get the most reviews after the romance - character profiles and general action get the least of any of my YYH vids.

After that are my very few shoujo vids - namely my Sailormoon vids. They get the most downloads (which really doesn't say much compared to the number of downloads the YYH vids get). They also get the next highest consistent ratings for stars and ops - being the next most popular anime I use after YYH.

If I'm just looking at videos in general (and not by anime), my romance vids get the most downloads, followed by my rare comedy vids. Next up is action, and very last is character profile (the ones without 'action' marked).

What does this tell me? Lots of anime in a video means lots of downloads, but less chance of high scores (since I'm not a pro editor and can't satisfy everyone and his brother). Popular anime get lots of downloads, and hard-to-find romance vids for popular anime (yaoi pairings in particular) get a lot of downloads and high scores (nothing for the viewers to compare them to in most cases since it's a narrow genre here). Comedy vids get lots of downloads - but the response varies (due to my odd sense of humor and non-pro editing skills...the lack of breasts, slapstick fanservice, and cutsy little-girl-anime may also attribute to this varied response with my comedy vids). Action vids get fewer downloads unless they're 'action-romance' or featuring very popular characters (YYH for me). Non-action character profiles and non-romance drama videos get the fewest downloads (because they're usually slow, and viewers have that thing where they need flashing lights every two to three seconds lest they get bored).

That's a pretty good summary of my download distribution, over 100+ vids. And all without comparing dick sizes! Joy for me since I don't have a dick. ;p
