Yeah we hadnt really considered it until someone brought it up. Honestly we are CAPABLE of handling most anything as long as its not Windows Movie Makered and it is the correct resolution and 24 or 27.97. But for the sake of saving hours and hours of reformatting peoples videos we prefer to have them submitted in a nice easy to work with format to begin with. In a perfect world we wouldnt reformat anyones videos but due to the miracles of software we can under most circumstances reproduce it lossless.

I'd say so. It'll definately be the best AMV contest the con has had so far in my opinion.
We have gotten alot of really good submissions this year and I am sure that it will be alot of fun for everyone invloved.
We still have room for a 1-2 more submissions though, so if anyone is thinking about submitting a video, get it in here by 12:00AM EST tonight!
Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Hey Misty,MistyCaldwell wrote:LunaAislin - Is there special seating for amv creators in the contest showing at all? I was just wondering....
We will most definately have special seating for the contestants available. You guys are the stars of this thing after all

On a side note....
Hello everyone! Sorry that I haven't said a lot in this thread up to this point. While Luna has been out here handling all of the PR, I have been in the background grinding and tweaking all of the technical aspects to make sure that everyone's videos look as good as possible. >_< I won't bore you with any of the specifics, but suffice to say that I have done my homework. Hell I even know the exact details of how things like "B picture spoilage" affect the end result of an MPEG2 now

The changes we have made this year will most certainly be noticeable to those of you that have attended past Anime Mid-Atlantic contests. Some of the major changes are:
* The Prizes.
You lucky little bastards....
I got to tell you, I would *kill* for some of the stuff the winners will be taking home. Luna has done an awesome job with the prizes this year, and I personally guarantee that the stuff we have for the winners would make *any* anime fan drool.
* The Quality.
This was my #1 goal from day 1. You all busted your asses making these videos, I busted my ass to make sure they stayed as beautiful as they were when you handed them over to me. Period.
Have you ever submitted a video to a contest just to have it get decimated, de-synched, pixilated, and chopped up? Well, I have. Ain't happening this year.
* The Viewing Room
Previous years the contest has always been shown in a normal video room with people spewing out into the hallway :/
Not this year. Friday and Saturday the Contest will be shown in Main Events (The same room that opening ceremonies takes place in), which means plenty of seats, a larger screen, and a pretty damn impressive sound system.

The list goes on and on, but I don't want to give away all of the things we have in store for you.
I really hope that you are all as excited about this year's contest as much as I am. I encourage all of you to swing by and say "Hello" to Luna and me at the convention. I'd like to put some faces behind these videos that I have been watching over and over for the past 2 months

Also be sure to come by the "AMV FAQ" Panel that we are having. The format for the panel will be an open discussion for AMV editors of all skill levels. From seasoned veterans, to the curious. The more editors we have in there, the better.
Anyway, I have rambled on enough. Have to go finish up all of my checks to make sure that I have everything ready to go for tomorrow. If anyone has any questions before then, post them here, or email them to animemidatlanticamv@gmail.com. I will be checking both of them periodically tonight.
Take care!
