At one point, i was actually thinking of doing a serious action AMV with La Blue Girl (hadn't picked the song, but I thought it'd be cool.) but using only the action footage. (So it would be just like any other action AMV, but the footage would come from hentai.) You know, while we're on the subject, as far as putting videos on local go, as long as the AMV itself follows the rules, does it matter where you get the footage? (Like my idea of doing a clean action AMV w/ hentai footage.)

As long as the video doesn't break rules (no sexual nudity, no excessive graphic violence, mostly anime footage) you're fine. You can use as many hentai anime as you like so long as you're not using the sex scenes.

When does a hentai amv stop being an amv and start being a mini porn flick?

Why can't they be the same thing? I've always just thought of it as a different genre. An AMV with tons of action footage doesn't make it a mini action flick. I guess it just depends on whether or not hentai is classified as anime, and I've always thought it was, which is why there is nothing against them being catalogued (as far as I know).

Honestly, I've only seen one hentai AMV (one of MJ's, of course), and though it was tasteless and oddly funny, it's still an AMV.

I don't think there really is a line, I think what they are trying to avoid is spammers coming on with nothing but hentai clips, and then claiming them as AMVs. This is an AMV site so I if hentai was aloud to roam free that it might be taken advantage of, and this site would very quickly become a hentai site, and might even be shut down. That's just what I think they think.

I have seen many HMVs and I am not against an HMV at all. I think they are rather funny, and I too have seen most of MJ's handy work. Funny stuff, but anyway if there is any line then let if be that of indirect DLs just like it is now. People can still watch HMVs and yet at the same time this site, the greatest site in the world, does not turn into one of those crappy hentai sites with their bad quailty, and 10 second footage.

Oh cool! No, I wasn't going to use any sex scenes or scenes w/ nudity. Just the fully dressed action footage. About the only thing that might end up in it is the kinda phallic looking tentacles, but I wasn't going to use any clips that could possibly allude to what they're supposed to represent. (So basically, it would just look like monsters and demons w/ tentacles.) Thanx!

I am not sure, I know that I made another one that used a hentai video and I tried to downplay the sexual content and more so on what the storyline was. But I wonder if even then if it falls under the lines of mindless sex.
