hentai in amvs

To avoid watching them and finding out for myself (I'm a prude), I thought I'd ask those who know.

When does a hentai amv stop being an amv and start being a mini porn flick? I mean, if the entire amv is nothing but sex (or foreplay that leads into sex), is it still an amv? Or is it considered gratuitous anime porn that just happens to have a song playing in the background?

I've only watched one hentai vid, a romantic one, believe it or not. The rest that I've heard about seem to be comedic fanservice. So is there some unspoken rule that you don't do choregraphed anime porn and label it a music vid?

/note - I know hardcore hentai vids aren't allowed on local, but they are listed as amvs, and some are edited for content in a 'censored' version.

Most of the HMVs I've seen are either supposed to be funny, outrageous, or disgusting. I actually have an idea that would be, in my eyes, artistic.

Why can't they be the same thing? I've always just thought of it as a different genre. An AMV with tons of action footage doesn't make it a mini action flick. I guess it just depends on whether or not hentai is classified as anime, and I've always thought it was, which is why there is nothing against them being catalogued (as far as I know).

Honestly, I've only seen one hentai AMV (one of MJ's, of course), and though it was tasteless and oddly funny, it's still an AMV.

That's the sort of idea I have, only it seems crazy to make a romantic hentai vid - so easy for it to come out absurd.

I'd like to see a 'serious' hentai vid, myself. All the other stuff being in good fun, I really haven't really wrapped my mind around the idea which, in my view, would be a refresher.

It's been a long time since I watched it, and I'd never have done that if it hadn't been Sporkmaster. But...I remember it being romantic - not at all fanservicy/comedic the way I'd thought all hentai vids were.

Yes, good find, definitely along those lines; though it's admittably quite short for a fully-developed hentai romance vid. So that's possibly still an idea needing a good serious look.

I definitely think so. Wasn't the video that you linked? I know that song well, and I think it could make a good one. Although the song right after, "Be My Druidess," would make a much better one. (it's just lyrics linked to, mods)

I do think, however, that the pornographic footage would have to interspersed with a good amount of "normal" footage, so that the hentai was really only about 1/4 of the video. That's how I'd do it anyway. And then there are those people who are still in the "LOL PEN0R" stage, and either wouldn't get it or would giggle all the way through. That's unavoidable. But I am confident it can be done seriously for a more mature audience.
