I entered a video in an AMV contest, but the contest won't be for another month. Would it be ok to upload the video onto the server ?

usually its ok, unless the contest rules specify that they want it to be made fresh specifically for the contest. (ala AWA masters)

Personally for some cons, Especially ones with Audience voting, I would prefer to wait till after the con, or maybe a few days prior, to premeire it.
