I second Full Metal Alchemist. I've only seen the dub so far. It's about these two young boys that have tragedy strike them and they go on a quest to recover something that was lost to them. Along the way, they meet well, a couple crazed murderers and torturers and people that defy god and man. To accomplish their goal, one of the boys must enlist in the corupt military. On Cartoon Network I think they're up to ep 20ish or so. Dude it's awesome.

i third full metal alchemist an also narut0 is pretty good if u get narutos passt an stuff about how he had to deall with ppl with the probleem tht he has nine tails fox deamon an nobody likes him caus of tht an also i second wolfs rain it gets sad at ending or mabey inuyasha like inuyashas past an fruits basket mabey .hack//sign at some points its pretty sad

The last episode of Chrno Crusade was pretty sad. Actually, sad is an understatement...

That episode made me hate the series with a mad passion...

Ayashi no Ceres is a really sad Anime.
Samurai X (Trust & Betrayal) is sad, too.
