psxmc problems, please help

first of all, this may be concidered a dbl post but not many have eveen checked the other topic (old topic) so sorry if it is.


anyways, i got psxmc and everytime i try to use it i get this when i click on
"open and analyze cd"

the error:

"Can not read TOC, drive may not be ready"

what does that mean?
is there some step im missing into lookin in these discs? (btw i used all 4 ff9 discs and all 4 ff8 discs and got this error)
please help! or i may never be ablet to make my ff8/9 vids

A TOC error?
I believe that stands for Table of Contents in CDs that corporates the lengths of tracks in a disc.

Are your CDs scratched or damaged?
Also, your drive may not be working.

I would try ripping the game discs on another computer, and see if it works. If so, that would mean your CD drive is the problem here.

i only get the error using this, it works fine for everythign else ;/

Then I'm under the guess that your FF9 CDs are damaged and scratched.

I still recommend trying to rip it on another computer just in case, though.

okay im messing with it right now and if i go and click "open" i can get the .str(s) fromt he cds and convert those

so i guess i just cant use the "open and analyze cd" button ; /

grr
the above method only worked for ff9

ff8 wont work
there are no .strs on the disc, only 3 files

(this is disc 1)
ff8disc1.img
slus_008.92
system

any help lol?

That's because the "Open..." command is only for opening visible .str, .mov, etc. files in the CD or on the hardrive. In most cases, your computer can't read all the files on the PS disc by itself.

Although you can open some of the .STR files off the disc directly in FF9, those aren't all the available FMVs on that FF9 disc- You can obtain all the FMVs by using the prior method.

i will try it on my moms computer tomarrow and see if hers works, i dont see why mine wouldnt work...

is psxmc the only wayto get the files off?

okay i tried it on my moms ancient computer and its working there, idk why it wouldnt work here cuase my computer is new and none of my cd drives have given me any problems.

acutally have not tried ff8 yet, currently on 9
