Sakigake!! Takino Tomo!
Sakigake!! Takino Tomo!
music: "I Want Out" performed by HammerFall feat. Kai Hansen
video: Azumanga Daioh
filesize: 65 MB
format: Xvid/mp3
downloads: local and direct
This video is going to be going to the Otakon and Fanime contests, but since they don't have a fresh-kill rule and there are some extraneous circumstances surrounding the video's origins, it is being offered here first. If I'm going to stir muddy waters ethically, it might as well be with a decent video to start.
This video contains lipsynch, cheap automasked overlays, flagrant abuse of motion effects, and ridiculous comedy usage of cats with Dracula teeth. On the plus side, HammerFall doesn't sound much like HammerFall here, which is reason enough to get this one if you don't already have the I Want Out single.

Shin Hatsubai is a Premiere-free studio. Insomni-Ack is habitually worthless.

Ok, I really have to see this anime now. This video rocks, BTW - I gave it a 5/5. But I have one question.
Why not use the original song? The old Helloween vocalist was so much better. Granted, the original was slightly slower, but...
Oh well, I think it's time to pull out my old Helloween CDs and go on a cheesemetal binge!

I was thinking about the original version as well -- it definitely would have punched up the bridge section, as Kiske at the start of his career was a hell of a lot stronger in the higher register than Cans will ever be -- but I picked against it because I had the HammerFall version immediately to hand, and I like the production better.
The original HammerFall version is also slightly slower; the audio in the video was sped up using Nero Wave for some extra extra punch. There's a little overcompression in some areas (like the audible shift in production depth between the opening riff section and the first verse), but most of that is attributable to weirdness in the original production and is lost in the mp3 downmix in the distro encode anyways.
As, always, glad you enjoyed it,

WHOA! A Helloween songs done by Hammerfall, inspired by a video using Sonata Arctica covering the same song? Such confusion
Still, that was the most hilarious Azumanga video I've ever seen. Who would have thought heavy metal and AzuDaioh could work? Not I. The audio was a little difficult to make out the lyrics but I found them online. I simply love the "cheeziness" of the editing - I got teary-eyed from laughing so hard. Maybe that was not your intention but it's just so much fun. This is a definate Keeper (of the Seven Keys) for me.

Kai Stromler. An awesome guy who makes excellent (and ultra confusing sometimes) videos.
I think I'm going to embark on a journey to download all your videos, lol.
