Your Own Musical "Careers"

i play violin and viola (but my hands aren't big enough! that's so depressing.... *cries*) and piano.heh and recorder. i'm actually quite good at it so it doesn't squeak! *sigh* alto recorder is sooo nice.... and i sing. i used to be an alto, now i'm soprano, but i can sing to a low E flat. o.O me ish weird

^^ tuba is cool!

i've always wanted to play the cello or the flute... *sigh* but i'd have to get a baby cello - seriously my hands are tiny.
*sigh* the misfortune of me....

I play a Theramin, well I did, I built one years ago and it is long since gone. It was lots of fun, if you don't know what it is, think of the wierd sound in old scifi movies, they were made with a Theramin. I have a bowed psalter but i'm not very good at playing it. They tried to teach me to play piano for about four years when I was in school, it was a lost cause. I was a pretty good chior boy, I sang everything from bass to first tenor (can't anymore, my voice is getting old too). My best memory is from a small college I attended for half a year, we were in a chorale festival with our other lutheran schools, our chior was 25 members but the entire combined chorus was over 400 voices. Rather awe inspiring.

Alright, I'm a Bass Player for two, soon to be three bands in this great state of RI... (damn it i hate this state...) anyway, I'm starting to build a rep with these bands....
i just came back from playing at CBGB's in NY, which was fun...

Anybody here know who Primus is?
if you do, you'll probably get what kind of style i play...

I scream with pretensions towards singing.

I also write songs and lyrics, but I haven't played guitar since decapitating my left middle finger.

I've had a few years of piano lessons, but it's been years since I played much. I've made several hammered dulcimers and I occasionally play one at Renaissance faires and similar events. I've been part of a quartet that plays Celtic and Renaissance tunes, though that is currently on hold due to an excess of real life. Nowadays I mostly play the computer; i.e., I write or arrange music for sequencer and software synths.

I used to play the violin when I was a kid.

More recently, I was the singer of a metal/rock band for about 4 to 6 months, before the bass player and drummer got lazy and fucked off. That sucked because as if it wasn't hard enough to write music to begin with, now it was even harder to practice original songs AND cover-songs.

Which really really sucked.
