Another Con for the northland

Post by oldwrench » Sun Feb 06, 2005 11:51 am

I just learned about this con being hosted at the university campus in Marshall MN. Sounds like their first con so it will be interesting to see what they can do. The guest list looks good and being at the university they should have enough room and equipment. Anime Detour was hampered by equipment problems last year and it looks like these guys may have an advantage there.
Check their web site. If you have a chance, attend it anjd see what they have. It could be fun.

I'm just back from Anime Detour and had a chance to talk to the Sogen Con people. They are working on a good sounding con. They have around 20 guests coming. They have plans for some very interesting events, a lan party, a DDR competition, a cosplay ball, tabletop gaming, model building competition. They have some great plans for viewing rooms, two theaters that seat around 200, possibly a screen in the swimming pool room, view anime while you get wet, and maybe an outdoor theater, like the old drive ins.
Check out their deals, they still have dorm rooms available, 100 bucks for the room and weekend pass. If you ever wanted to see the end of the world, come on over. Marshall, Minnesota may not be the end of the world but you can sure see it fron here.
