Personally, this has been one of the best days of my life. Ever since my friend introduced me to the manga scans online, I've been dying to see the animation. Unfortunately, my computer is a little above the ranking of 'total crap', and has an apporximate download speed of 0-1 kb/sec (and I'm not exaggerating). And my parents really don't approve of buying things online, especially overseas.
So, now that it got liscenced (finally!), I can actually see naruto in color instead of just black and white ink lines! And voices!! Even if the dub is unbelievably repulsive, I can still hear it in the original Japanese track!

for those of you who have seen Naruto up to 121, you should know that a dubbed version will probably have bad voice acting (according to some, Naruto will be the voice of Ash from Pokemon) and the dubbing company's attempt at translating things like jutsu names and proper titles will probably be poor. Many think that this is a terrible day for Naruto, and for anime. I'm surprised most of you are happy about this, since a lot of anime has been ruined by importing it to USA. I am definitely hoping for the best, but I doubt that Viz or ShoPro can pull it off. Also, since it is going to be shown on Toonami, they will probably edit out a lot of the blood (which there is a lot of... it's a ninja anime) and cursing and the Sexy-no-jutsu. Some dubs have been good, but when you watch the fansubs for a long time, it just isn't right.

Idiot... two things... Uncut and subtitled. Buy the DVDs and don't waste your time if You don't want to see censorship. I might dislike naruto with a burning passion, but I doubt that it will be nearly as butchered as you think. You seriously deserve to be called a retard for thinking that just because the dub will undoubtedly suck as much as the show itself that it will be edited on the official DVDs.

That could happen if they sell the license to 4Kids and 4Kids (inexplicably) treats it like Tokyo Mew Mew or One Piece, but considering the phenomenal otaku fandom already extant for Naruto it's doubtful that they'd just leave the cash cow unmilked. Hopefully, if ShoPro's given it to 4Kids, then 4Kids will sublicense the unedited Japanese-sub version out to Funimation or someone (like they did with Yugioh). Hopefully.
I mean, I'm still not going to buy it, but I'll say whatever it takes to shut one thousand million billion screaming raving Naruto maniacs up. ^^;

and YES I want Naruto for free! I really don't care if the creator makes 40 million instead of 50 million. I'm gonna watch Naruto fansubs like I've been doing. NO I don't think a million kids running around with head protectors yelling "Doppleganger" would be any fun. They plan on releasing it late this year, and I don't think they can dub it very well in the little time they have unless they release it like DBZ, 20 episodes and then start over, etc.
If you really have gotten into Naruto then you can understand why "Narutards" are either annoyed or angry about the licensing issue. It just cannot possibly be as good in English. They're gonna screw it like they did DBZ and then everyone will make AMVs with CN's logo in it and everyone will hate Naruto because it will be too popular to be any good. U know its true
