Sounds like a biased opinion to me, but seeing as how you're entitled it....

I'm just saying I hope you would understand if someone thought that rap DOES go with AMV's and gothic/heavy metal DON'T. That person wouldn't be me necessarily, seeing as how I'm under the belief that as long as someone thinks that mixing a certain genre of music into an AMV is entertaining, then that is reason enough to create it.

People should create AMV's under THEIR own opinions and not the opinions of others, therefore every genre technically belongs in the AMV world.

But then, that is MY opinion.

you sound like such a woman...

I like rap because ... well im black (there goes all my votes for the VCA's next year)

I listen to rap the most out of anything else, we'll because not only do i like the lyrics but it has given me an appreciation for the older music (you know some use samples from older artist) so when i hear a song I immediately try and find out what the song under it was...

then i go and get high or something

Yeah some are womanizers... but so far thats the only arguement i've ever heard on this "internet" thing. "Oh their talking about asses and boobies, i dont like this" you guys act like your not men and that your apart of this censorship thing. I could single out Papa Roach and say i hate rock because one of his songs was about suicide... and I could say all rock does is talk about suicide and killing their parents or hating the world or that the cute girl never wants them.

Vegeta, please, I'm asking you nicely as a fellow org member: be quiet. You don't need to post every five seconds. No food pellets are going to come out if you keep clicking.

And TrunkZ, calling the org racist ("there go all my votes in the VCAs") is hideous and uncalled-for.

okay, now I'm done.

Most of them here seem to listen to the rock genre, or more into some of the sidebranches there off.
Alrighty, that would've been the second thing I'd mention.

Not all of the people replying in this thread are men. There actually is a female populace in the amv-making scene.

But I'd agree that it's generalizing to say all rap has the female-bashing theme. Most of the rap songs I like to listen to are about society and struggling to find a place to fit into the mesh. I like the songs that focus on that topic, but it's only one topic.

There *are* a lot of songs out there about 'hos', just read any recent interview of popular rap singers - they try to branch out, but the fact is the popular audience expect and want that sort of male angst. I'd say there are a lot more rap songs about street violence, myself. Drugs, shooting, death, power, all rolled up into one angsty rap.

It's the genre. How many country songs are *not* about beer and romance? There are a few, and some singers specialize in topics outside the 'norm'. But it's still a genre of angsty men and romantic women.

As for making a rap amv, I may get around to doing one for a Paris track I have. But I'm still biased against the 'spoken' versus 'sung' lyrics. I don't think I'll ever really consider a 'rap song' a real song (as in, something that's sung). I'm not the sort who could edit to a poem. I like singing more than background music, so rap is a tough genre for me.
