I haven't finished watching it yet, but as far as I can tell, it is basically about the aftermath of the one year war of the orginal gundam series. It refers a lot back to the orginal, so that's why I'll proabably get the first one as well. So, far the thing I really lie about it is that the battle seem unpredictable, and the good guys and main character's don't always win. So, it is very realistic, which certainly makes it more exciting to watch.

Speaking of Gundam (Doy! I'm in a Gundam forum post *slaps himself*), anyone get any news of the still-in-production Luve Action Gundam Movie? I don't know if it'll be a whole new thing or based off of UC like G Saviour was. Either way, I'm gonna be FIRST IN LINE to see it.

In a nutshell:

Zeta takes place 8 years after the end of the original series. Following the conclusion of the One Year War, the Earth Federation instituted a specialized task force, the Titans, to hunt down and surpress any potential Zeon remnants. Unfortunately, as time passed, the Titans began to grow rapidly, and went from being a security branch of the EF, to practically becoming their own private army...with no real means of being able to restrain them now, the EF could only sit back and watch the Titans brutal tactics (the most infamous of these mentioned in the series is the Colony 30 Incident...which refers to a non-violent anti-EF protest that the Titans responded to by gassing the colony it was occurring in.) As a result of these actions, a new group comes to light, the AEUG (Anti-Earth United Government.) In spite of the name, the group is actually an alliance of sorts (its members consist of both ex-Zeons and EF soldiers who feel the Titans have overstepped their boundaries.)

That said, Zeta picks up in the middle of this conflict when a colony citizen and techno-geek, Camille Vidan (...yes, I'm aware the US release is spelling it Kamille Bidan...watch me not care,) winds up getting caught up in an AEUG operation to jack the Titans new MS, the Gundam Mk-II. Having nothing but contempt for the Titans, Camille aids them in the theft, and thus joins in their war.

Overall, it's a good standalone series (rather dark, but still good.) Would help to see the first series though (since several of the characters from the original series pop up here and there throughout Zeta.)

p.s. Yeah, ZA's right...the live-action movie news release was debunked as false

No, actually it's as solid as the Live Action Evangelion Movie. It'll come out after the Live Action Battle Angel Movie. No hoax. Creepy enough a Dragonball Live Action Movie is in the works. Once again, NOT A HOAX. Expect it around 2007 or so.

That is... unless it either cancelled or the concept art I saw was fake. Eh, who really knows :?

I think I saw a Dball live-action movie on video already.
It was inevitable: the scent of bitter almonds always reminded him of the fate of unrequited love.

Not everything you read on the internet is true.

I hope Bandai fucking hurry up and release Gundam X, I can't stand it, I need to see it again on DVD.

Oh yeah, that sexy boxset was released in Japan recently as well

Curiosity bids me ask...care to present this concept art?

Cause right now I'm thinking one of three things:

a) It was art for another film someone labeled as being for this
b) They are indeed fakes
or
c) There was an attempt to make a live-action Gundam movie back in the 80s which Syd Mead did several designs for (...if those are indeed Mead's designs, I'll be impressed.)
