Gundam SEED Destiny takes my top spot right now. The main character is still a bickering asshole with no personality, but hes slowly starting to develop one. Besides that, the series has some awesome music, and some great character and mech designs.

I have to put in a vote for VanDred. I just saw it yesterday. Just think, your vangard combines with a dred fighter and you end up with a cute and sexy pilot on your lap. Ah well, old man fantacies.
