The Man Who Walks Alone

Post by Nausy » Tue Jan 25, 2005 11:59 am

Anime: Tokyo Babylon, X (TV)
Song: Fear of the Dark, Iron Maiden

As soon as I heard this song, I felt it was perfect for Subaru! "I'm the man who walks alone"... In this video I tried to choose the scenes in a "ironical" way. It's obvious that Subaru isn't afraid of the dark, so I decided to think of the dark as his memories, that still haunt him (mostly about Seishirou, of course). I used some clips from Tokyo Babylon as well ("Have you run your fingers down the wall..." ;) ). Spoilers from X16!

Feedback is always appreciated.

Damn Decent, i dont' know if this is a new wave of videos, but a lot of newer X videos are starting to use clips of Tokyo Babylon so that they can make a more complete Sumeragi video (usually Subaru), but i like that idea

I like how u used that climax in the song to start the conflict of subaru and seishirou and have them start fighting, sorta Subaru's fear attacking him in a more real way instead of just haunting him

fairly good timing overall, didn't miss many beats at all, there was a problem with the audio at 3:38 when Subaru's birds are hitting Seishirou's pentagram shield, that kind of thing messes with the rhythm of a video so i had to point it out

Video and Audio quality could have been better, but weren't atrocious or anything

one of the only real problems with the video overall is the use of Subaru's fight scenes with Fuma, since Fuma wasn't what was haunting Subaru, this is kinda 'filler' footage for a video, but i dont' know... i guess since Fuma started manifesting himself as everyone's fears... it sorta still counts
especially since it made for some good footage

Thanks!!! :D There's a purpose in those scenes with Fuuma: during that figh, Subaru thinks that Fuuma looks like Seishirou, because Seishirou is the most important person to him (in the manga...sorry, but I don't remember if they put this thing in the anime), so it's like he haunts him even through Fuuma... pretty complex to explain, but it's really a simple concept! :D

ooooooh yeah, i do remember that now, it was in the anime too, but just to clarify, Subaru only saw Seishirou in Fuuma because Fuuma was doing it on purpose, Fuuma was going around making himself appear to be other people to cause more chaos

but yeah, doesn't matter who's doing it was, the end result was still Subaru seeing Seishirou

btw, i didn't even notice until i saw the intro that you were part of Sakura Zuka Studios, kinda kule that i stumbled upon one of Yoko's partners, just wanted to point that out and say hi.... HI!! :P hope ur guy's new studio does well

Yes, I'm a new member! This is my first video using the logo! :D

So that's what they say in the anime... thanks for telling me, because I oly remembered what they say in the amnga, and there it's not Fuuma doing it on purpose, but it's something you feel and see... I really must see the anime again!
