There are times like these I wished I followed more on Monster (first episode I saw was pretty damn good), but I just don't like downloading episode series that are more than 26 episodes (too many CDs to burn). I'll wait until this get licensed. It'll cost me, but it'll be worth it.

Considering even the best DVD-pricing scenarios, I'd say following fansubs of it is somewhat easier. And then there's the question of when and if, in terms of licensing (the manga supposedly was, but I'm yet to see it anywhere).
Granted, I like it to the point of considering importing the actual Japanese releases

I watched the first episode of Monster because of Oto's constant pimping of it, but it didn't really make me want to watch more. I'm no action junkie, but it felt a bit dull. Perhaps it was the animation style. I should get a few more eps to pass final judgement.

I would by no means say it's a series that'll appeal to everyone. It's rather slow-paced and outwardly unappealing, and if you don't sympathise with the style/characters/storyline... well, it's no crime. I don't think everyone would/should.

Part of the appeal of it for me, of course, is that it's the only anime/manga that I still didn't "get" completely...
