For instance, DBZ. Everyones hates/pretends to hate because it is such an easy show to make fun of. Here's a quick summary of a fight: 2 episodes of talking, 5 minutes fighting, "oh my god i got defeated, lets power up and train for 5 eps and make me stronger", then another ep of talking, 5 more minutes of fighting and being victorious, then a 2 ep recap.

First of all, there is nothing more offputting when you go to check out a new music vid and all it's creator can say about it is how bad it is. Let us decide whether it's bad or not, okay?! I get to say how bad my own vid is, as I'm the one who made it. Your opinion means however much I want it to mean, as I'm the one who gets to discard or value your opinion.

I think this is much more logical. Stop whining about what people write in video descriptions.

Well, I question why people say their own video sucks so much. I mean, if they thought it really sucked that badly and they were the ones that made it, why should I, as the general public, even bother watching it? Is this a case of false modesty or a slap in the face saying my taste sucks if I happen to enjoy the video? Maybe the creator really doesn't like the way the video turned out, but if you're going to offer it to the public, maybe you should let them decide without coloring their opinion of it from the beginning.

The reason why i call myself AMV maker Carp-tacular is just a little joke. But i do know that i am not as good as i want to be, but i hope i can change that with the upcoming video, because i think this will hit like a bombshell. Atleast if i can pull it off before the footage get's me a total depression.

I, for one, can easily pick out most, if not all, of the little minor flaws in my videos. I then promptly pray to God no one else notices them. Usually I will try my best not to draw any attention to errors in my videos, so anything that might even seem self-depriciating in the descriptions is removed. Thus, everyone one wins, especially me.

Good question, and I don't have a good answer to that one. Maybe if you enjoy watching videos with the preconception that they're bad...

It's hard to tell with #1. However, I don't think that such a statement is an affront unless it's explicitly stated that way, or the viewer takes it as such. I don't think that there's anything wrong with the creator stating that his or her video sucks in the video description, and if someone happens to like that video, then that someone just happens to like that video.

Maybe the creator really doesn't like the way the video turned out, but if you're going to offer it to the public, maybe you should let them decide without coloring their opinion of it from the beginning.

I don't think that eradication of preconceived notions can really occur unless you erase all descriptive data about the video. A couple of cases:

(1) "Ooh, this video uses [x] anime!" or "Ooh, this video uses [x] song!" "It must be neat!" or "This is going to suck!"
(2) "The creator says that s/he put character x and y together? This is going to be weird."

I don't see how stating "this video sucks" raises or lowers expectations any more than any other description. That's just me, though.
