Unintentional Synching
Before I started out making AMVs, I used to take vids and synch them to other music to see if anything matched up. Apparently, that shit is pretty common, but I don't hear a lot about it. I noticed that Duel of the Fates synchs up pretty sweet with Shonen Productions' Parasite Eve - Show Must Go On vid, if you start the song 4 seconds into the vid. And Tsukin seems to have found some kind of dubious freak of nature in my "Nameless" vid (Yeah, that's the title.) Take Static X's Black and White, and start it as soon as the credits end & the footage starts. I'd like to know if anyone else finds something that synchs up so wickedly. Tsukin... you're a fucking madman.

One of my early videos was just suppost to be the final fight from DBZ movie 13 cut out on its own. You know so I could just fire it up and watch it with out watching the entire movie. Well, once I had all the action scenes I wanted cut out, I saw that together they were just about the same length as Beethoven's 5th Symphony. Out of curiousity I set that as the audio track, the sync was perfect, and an AMV was born.

I've never had something quite that uncanny. But I have had occasions with accidental beat-sync (when a character was walking, having their footsteps on-beat, or having a pot hit the wall right on a drumbeat) with the video's own audio. Those didn't even hit me until after releasing the video. Love it when little things work out like that.

Don't know if this counts but, back in high school I noticed how anime openings are generally 1 minute 27 seconds in length. So I started switching around songs (I would load one video on one computer in the lab, and the other on an adjacent one). I then mute on of the computers and play them both at the same time.
It was hilarious. Both Gundam Wing visual openings synched perfectly with the Cardcaptor Sakura songs!

Surprisingly enough, that's basically the story of my MAX 300 video.Coffee 54 wrote:One of my early videos was just suppost to be the final fight from DBZ movie 13 cut out on its own.
