  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Great work!

You know, when I saw this announcement, I remembered I still hadn't downloaded 'Absolution' since I got my good internet access back

And as good as that video is... nah, you know, I don't want to compare them, actually, but I will say it's great to see your editing style developing in the direction that it seems to.

This one was very athmospheric and smooth. At a time when quick-fire eye-straining and/or visually cluttered videos seem to be popular, it's really refreshing to see something that suggests fluidity and calm even just by the way it's edited - not to mention the colours, ambience, and such. That's why I like well-considered simple videos like this - you don't need fancy visuals to be able to bring out the visual goodness of the anime.

And you know, I never thought much of this particular song, nor seen the anime, but both of them are in better standing for me now :)

Thanks for another good vid!
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Thanks! Yeah, it took a little while for me to ease into this style after synch-happy Absolution. I had started with the instrumental interlude (;)), where the acoustic guitars were driving me crazy. As editing went on, I caught onto a better grasp of this simpler style. I think this is my first video where I didn't obsessively standardize the number of frames for each rubberband fade.

Some of the more complicated editing came in postprocessing, which was a pretty arduous task, as I tested just about everything that I could find. But given the video length and the difficult-to-compress flower scenes, postprocessing was a HUGE help in compression. My huffy went from 2.6 gigs before postprocessing to 1.5 gigs after.

Nah, that's me too. Unfortunately all the flashes came from the animation itself. (I guess they really liked strobes or something.) The most I could do was cut out flashy frames wherever their absence wouldn't take away from the rest of the animation. Thanks for liking the video nonetheless.
