I think it wouldn't hurt to synch some other sound of the music and doing a little more actual changes, it wouldn't lose focus on the pianokeys imo

Lubbed the song, so will be watched a few times over

I have to agree. I saw this video at the Anime Destiny 2004 AMV contest this weekend and found the judges award as “Most attention-grabbing AMV” to be appropriate, as it certainly did grab my attention, but not in a positive way. About half way through I found myself praying for a change, and when that didn’t happen soon enough, praying for the end. It was the only video where I wrote a short note to myself, and that was “one trick pony”. I applaud you for creating experimental videos however, IMHO the result of this experiment is that one effect, used so often, cannot carry a video on its own.JCD wrote:The pianokeys annoyed me after a while
I've been thinking that I should have altered the key styles at the breaks at 2:00 and 2:55. Question is, how? I already used drop-shadows and glows. Maybe a split key, horizontal or vertical...or a cracked key. Maybe doubled up and mirrored across the center of the screen. There are many possibilities.JCD wrote:...I think it wouldn't hurt to synch some other sound of the music and doing a little more actual changes, it wouldn't lose focus on the pianokeys imo ...
"One trick pony" is what this project was all about. And I thought the same about the "attention-grabbing" label. Could be for good or not-so-good. Can't argue with the judges, however.Masahiko29 wrote:I have to agree. "Joplin storm" is an interesting idea. Especially in video.Jasper-Isis wrote:Ah, I've been waiting for a video like this. And while it's not the Joplin storm that I'd imagined, I thought it was a very good video nonetheless.
Kenshin? Only "a couple"?? dW, I think this one is for you. Unless Sir Enji stumbled into the wrong topic.Sir Enji wrote:That was excellent ^_^ I noticed a couple of chep effects, but overall it was very neat, of course I'm a kenshin fan so I like to watch kenshin AMVs ^_^ makes my work look like child's play
Give him time.Vlad G Pohnert wrote:Gee... I not sure if I should laugh, feel complimented or just plain insulted. Mr DW should be up to hating half the worlds population of AMV creators by now.
OK, maybe I misunderstood your post, but there is a subtext to this thread that you may have missed. And since you like Kenshin vids, you might want to look at this if you haven't seen it. It's a good one.Sir Enji wrote:hey I didn't say I was good either! I was just saying some of the things the guy did detracted from the AMV. Don't need toget all overmy case, I've only made 5 in my life, none of them I would say were great.
