that don't change their words values from year to year!

dude, i don't know if anyone has told you, but "manga" is either:

1) the comics that anime is largely taken from

or

2) A large anime distributer...who don't update their web site at all...ever...

i think the second one is what you're referring to.

anyways, i tend to watch the dub first time so i can get the plot right, then the subs so i can get the feel of the original work and sort out the fine details that the dub got wrong.

All the manga I ever bought for myself specifically was in Japanese.

Although my proficiency in Japanese is limited, I have a strange attraction to the original format

I prefer my Anime Japanese with English dubs, and I prefer English Manga, although I own some other languages like French, German and Japanese, I hardly ever read them.
The very thing that I am trying to prove to not exist is the very thing holding me back...

I guess there is perhaps a reason to fear your scary language-owning might after all

Well, I do read manga in English quite a bit too, though that generally happens to be scanlations rather than paper manga. I could read it in a couple of other languages, but I can't say I've ever come across any manga that wasn't either English or Japanese (no wait, I'm lying... there was that one time when I accidentally found a Portugese translation of something....)

That is the moxy I was referring to...
Otohiko and that impromptu goodness, where would we be without it?

I view subs out of habit, out of artistic compassion to see the original product. I always make it a point to watch the dub on my second view through. And if one is absolutely atrocious (either) I will skip it for the length of the series.

Sub or Dub, I do not think one is inherently better. They are independent, relying heavily on the quality of work put into originally, and by the license holder.
