Jesus in Anime

Okay, I have been watching Kenshin lately, and so far it is a really good series, but at a lot of places he speaks words of wisdoms, like Jesus, and everyone is amazed! I have seen this in other animes as well, but primarly the Kenshin series. I am only wondering if anyone else has noticed this.

I don't really mind it, actually I find it pretty funny most of the time, but I am only wondering if anyone else noticed it.

And for the "legal" aspect I don't mean to be offensive to Christains, I am not Christain, but I have taken a bible as lit class and have read three of the gospels. So, that's how I know. Well, anyway I was only wondering. Please name other series you see this into!

I think it's just words of Wisdom. There are other people who spoke wisdom, Buddha and Zen masters for example. off the top of my head i can't think of any anime that have wise men in it, but the closest i can think of is from www.brokensaints.com you'll have to search a bit to find the chapters though.

Wait, there's one out now, Requiem from the Darkness, i think Matachi, the little guy, does spew out words of wisdom. but that may not be the example you're looking for

*bonks self on head* sorry im going through this phase where I just cant seem to get my grammer straight. Please bare with me.

The teachings of God are depicted in many different ways, someone may go word for word from the bible others may take it differently. But you must remember that some people take anything said about God that isnt from a Priest of some form of Minister as a huge insult. I dont get insulted but agitated when I watched that part of the Kenshin series. (if where talking about the meji series) [Ive forgotten their names I wasnt paying much attention to it to be honest] The main priest dude who....

There are a lot of Christian references in Evangelion (states the obvious). There really isn't anything wrong with making references, just as long as you don't attmept to convert someone.

also, about the kenshin/jesus/wise man thing, i don't think you should automatically parallel a man speaking wise words with people around being awe-struck with jesus christ right away

i think we should just accept those people (jesus, buddha... kenshin) as being wise and through knowledge and experience have been able to see the truth in what they speak and in a way they are showing how enlightended they are... therefore logically the majority of people who listen (and are commonly NOT-enlightended) will become surprised or stricken with AWE when they hear these words

it's basically just knowledge being spread and actually reaching an ear, don't think we should really worry about religious references, especially for christians who i believe are more sensitive to this issue, until kenshin starts claiming he is the king of kings

I'm sorry, but i'm beginning to like this whole Kenshin Cult thing. i was he was still a killer, then we could do blood sacrifices... maybe y'all can take on the Foamy card cult.

When Kenshiro first appears in Fist of the North Star movie in full beard I always thought he looked like jesus on steroids.
