Bad Anime DVDs

Now I'm not asking what you think is a bad anime DVD, I'm
curious to see how many other people have been gifted with the
anoying "broken" DVD.

So far I've run into two:

GTO volume 3 - the last two episodes wouldn't play.

El Hazard the Wanderers vol 3 - The last three episodes were all messed up,
they'd play real slow, then shoot forward real fast with all these wierd sound
distortions and weird visual artifacts.

WoW sucks to be you. Maybe you can learn from this problemand keep your receipts. If you still have it take it back. As for me ive had a dvd jump or two when I got the Onegai Teacher series. So I took them back and they were more than happy to replace them.

My friend got one of the bad GitS movie DVDs, before they issued a recall.

But as for me, I've been lucky (haven't watched my GTO DVD 3 yet, though....

)

I've had no problems with the discs I've purchased except Kare Kano #1, which froze twice in PowerDVD and once on a standalone player. And that was supposed to be the corrected v2 disc.

My Escaflowne the Movie dvd (from the perfect collection no less) will not play the last half of the movie if it's in a ps2 for some reason.

Oh well, it works in other dvd players though ^_^

Sounds like the fun I had with getting a copy of Vol. 1 of Berserk.

First time I bought it, first two or three eps played just fine...then the rest of the disc went to Hell...

So, I go back to the store to exchange for a copy...same thing happens...go back, same thing happens (by this point I've now effectively proven all the copies of volume 1 in the store got a bad print.) To the point where they gave me $30 in store credit to use the next time they got a fresh batch of those discs. (...Thank God that set finally broke the cycle)

would play the FBI warning just fine but after that it went to hell.
when i looked at the information side i could see that it had a huge scratch just running through it

all the evangelion dvd's. they just look crap. did it realy take a platinum re-release to get some decent art on them ?
