AWA Masters entry: Reflections of a Goddess

Post by norskotaku » Mon Sep 27, 2004 9:18 pm

my apologies to anyone who saw this at awa for the lack of video quality when it was shown on the big screen. my fault for sending an Xvid, I suppose, but trust me, the aspect ratio is correct on the copies now available online, and the video has all the clarity that was lost with the version shown at the con.

there are three versions available for download. the local download is 512x272 since that was the best copy I could get under 100mb, and I have a 720x360 on the first direct dl, weighing in at 129mb, as well as the full resolution 960x480 as the second direct download, for anyone like me who just has to have the best copy available. I know those two are rather large for online copies, but it's the price I pay for such a long song. if anyone is stuck on a dialup connection and can't get even the local one, let me know and perhaps I can get you a cd.

Oh my.....

Absolutely. Amazing.

I need more words.

It's long, and had me riveted. Of course, I'm a little biased in favor of AMG, but whatever...

if this was the first video shown in the Masters section of the VAT awards, then I thought this video was awesome. It was one of my favorites from the Masters category. I particularly realy liked the song.

yes, this was the first video shown. I cringed when I saw the first clip come up as 4:3 and hoped that they would quickly turn the volume up as it was too quiet. glad you liked the video, and yeah, the music is great. I had a great time working with it.

This AMV was freakin' awsome!!! Thanks for making such a good one.

However, I had to download the 81.4MB one because the bigger ones have problems with keeping the audio and video in sync.

I wonder if its because I have a ATI Raedeon 9200 w/128 MB of ram on my AMD Athlon XP2600 2.08@2.25, or that I have too many things open and running at the time.

hm... I tested all of them and they ran fine on this machine, which I doubt it any better than yours. do you have a copy of Xvid1.0 installed or are you using something else? my only guess would be low resources, if you have too much running at once. the larger files may take too much memory and the computer could mess them up if it's too much for it to handle. I had issues with the original encode, which was an older copy of Xvid that left it at almost 500mb, when I tried to run it on this machine without closing things like bittorrent beforehand.

as long as you got a copy that would work, that's good. if anyone else has issues with the larger Xvid copies, please let me know. I had some major issues making mpegs and none of them turned out acceptable in my opinion, but I'll work harder on it if the need is there.

Animania? if this does wind up being shown somewhere, please show the correct aspect ratio for me. ^_^ I really would like to finish the second part before it's shown again, but I'm so unmotivated right now. gah...
