AWA Pro entry: Eternal SKY

Post by Bakadeshi [AuN Studios] » Mon Sep 27, 2004 5:58 am

Image

This was my AWA pro entry. The concept was completely experimental, and most of you probably wouldn't even guess it was mine since its not my normal style of videos ^^ This one takes the approach that Hitomi is dreaming of the time she spent with Vhan in Gaia (after she returned) and longs to go back to that time. More info in video comments, including technical comments. The image is just a screen snap from the AMV.

Title: Eternal SKY
Song used: Akino Arai - Time of gold flowing (From Please save my earth Image OST)
Anime: Escaflowne Movie - A Girl in Gaia

Enjoy. 8-)

Very nice. It created a great general feeling throughout. I particularly enjoyed the end. Another video that surely deserved its award. :)

Thanks... but this didn't win anything ;p

It was my Expo entry that won sentimental, (Oratorio of Ghibli) which won't be released until the release of the Animasia Project, since its part of that. I actually submitted it for some exposure for the project, I realy didn't expect it to actually win an award

I actually think the video would've been better without the text, but other then that, good stuff
The best effects are the ones you don't notice.

Yeah the text was distracting, otherwise an excellent video. :)

Huh, the text was one of the things that made this video work for me. The only thing I didn't like was that it was Escaflowne(for some reason the animation style makes me cringe in places, but this vid had very few of those scenes.)

This was wonderful, Baka-san. Thank yiou so much for sharing. ^^

This film had to have been one of my all-time favorites, and I think you did a beautiful job on presenting it with a such a whimsical feel. The text I thought really brought the piece together...I feel that if it weren't there during the opening section, the video would feel as if it was just running on...

I'll be opping this soon, expect a lot more praise there. ^^;;

This is a great video, one of those I nominated for best video ;)
Too bad it didn't win anything. It creates a great sentimental feel and gives me the "wow, that was good" impression at the end.

Excellent job! :)

I guess I can tell you this now, but I was *this close* to giving you my VAT Guest Award and calling it something like the "I'm an Escaflowne fanboy" award or something .

However, you did win something at AWA Expo and I was *very* surprised Corran's "Last Transmission" video did not win anything and opted to give it to him. Hopefully you're not angry :P. Gotta spread the wealth around ;).

Either way, good job. I was very impressed with this video and surprised it was not nominated for "Best Drama" or "Best Instrumental."...but then again, I'm biased
