having source footage and not knowing the anime?

Not as bad as Vicbond, who made the MIB trailers to Big O without ever watching the anime... And still hasn't...

AD and DW give me shit about this all the time

It's not like I'd never seen FLCL, I've just never sat down and actually watched the whole thing. I had access to the footage because my friend bought the DVDs from Japan.

I generaly watch an anime before I make a video out of it, I think the only video I made an AMV out of with out watching it was my Fade to Black video, which I ended up watching after I made the video =p so I made a better video Top Guns of Macross since I knew what everyscene was and how it was used in context =)

well...i just ordered a few anime's that i had ideas for....

Read Or Die OVA & FLCL (which i saw 2 of 6 episodes on [AS])

i only bought them cuz i thought they would be enjoyable as well as serve their purpose in my amv...

i only buy stuff that will have appeal in the long run...so even though i get ideas from seeing clips used in other vids (i'm assuming that's how ya'll are getting exposed to the source) i don't have friends that are that passionate about anime (if they like it....it's still dbz & dbgt...

) to borrow from so i guess i'm s.o.l.

i guess if i was desparite enough...and really wanted to pursue a project that i would probably buy a fansub on a whim...(i know, i know...bad SpLyF

)
