Forum rules
Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

It took me long enough but...

Here it is! I've been a member for over a year, but not until now have I completed my first AMV after much planning and plotting (well, not really).

The anime is the Neon Genesis Evangelion that we all know and love. I know that next to DBZ it's the second most used anime so I tried to make up for it's unoriginality by using rarer footage, meaning that EVA-action sequences are very scarce (or rather, there are no EVA-action sequences whatsoever) plus I've tried to use as much footage that are rarely (if ever) seen in NGE vids.

The song is named Ikaros by the rock trubadour Björn Afzelius and I chosed it because I thought the lyrics almost perfectly reflected Shinji's complicated relationship to his father and to himself.

NB1. Since the song is in swedish you might want some help with the meaning of the lyrics (unless you're a native speaker that is).

NB 2. No lip-sync was ever intended so please, if you're giving feedback (which I highly suggest :) ) don't fret over the fact that lip movements and lyrics don't match.

NB 3. I'm so terribly sorry for the subs (even if they do match at places). :( Gomen nasai!

And here's the link then. http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... hp?v=49093

umm.. two comments remove subs and add lyrics instead. This video
would have been decent.. but, other then that not bad :)

Maybe a remastered copy is in-order with these corrections?

Yup! I'm on it as I'm writing this post.

What else is there to say about it except for the subtitle-thing?

Being a rookie I need all the feedback I can get. :)
