Forum rules
Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Um...help? Newbie's vid screwing up!

Post by misao7 » Sat Aug 28, 2004 4:14 pm

Okay, I'm pretty new to a-m-v.org, and when I forgot to write down the FTP address for my vid Harder to Breathe, it said to ask for help on the forums...so here I am.

Simply put, my question is...

What do I do now?!

Help, please...just a stupid newbie here.

In fact, I'm not even sure this goes here. -_-

Nope. If you look down, you'll see the 'Site Help' section - it should have gone there. But don't repost it, the mods will move it for you.

If you've lost the ftp address, then you'll need to start over. Go to the 'upload video/confirm video' link and delete the vid - check the box and hit the 'cancel' button. Then go to 'upload video' and it will give you a new adress to start over with.

If you're having trouble with an ftp client, run down to the help section - they have a stick that will walk you through how to upload videos. ^.~

Whoops. -_-;;; Srry...

I already tried deleting the vid, that's when it said I couldn't delete it for technical reasons, and to ask for help on the forums. >.<

It said that? o.O

Try again and copy exactly what message it gives you - I've never heard of that on this site.

If you've already 'confirmed' the video, then no - you can't delete it on your own. Never hit the 'confirm video' button unless you're sure it's uploaded correctly. If you've already done it, then you'll have to request that it be deleted so you can upload a correct version - go to the 'edit my videos' link and at the bottom of the page is the 'request video deletion' link.

Okay, I did all that and got the FTP address, but for some reason it won't let me log in and get my vid on the server...

*gouges eyes out* Why must it be MY vid?!!
