Not Quite Anime... Van Helsing: the London Assignment
This would be the first music video of mine that I've made available for download. I don't want to put any of my anime ones up until I can make them sans subtitles, because I really hate when subtitles are included in amvs. Anyways, yeah, this is one of my first AMVs ever, so be gentle.
A warning, though: this is a romance AMV centered around Carl and Van Helsing as seen in the animated short movie The London Assignment. That means yaoi undertones, so if that's not your thing, don't bother watching. For yaoi and slash lovers, there's plenty of fluff so feel free to enjoy all 3 minutes and 51 seconds of it. It's set to the sappy romance staple "With You" by Avril Levigne.
This video was made with my crappy copy of Windows Movie Maker and is saved as a .wmv

Please comment, I'm really looking for advice from some AMV vetrens!

While in Roam, right 'Ryan'? ;pVoices_Of_Ryan wrote:Their just as bad as obbsessive fangirls that usually rome the hollow walls of this place.
As to the vid - I've never seen Hellsing the anime, or the movie that came out a while back (or any animated short spun off either of the two) and I've never read anything about the name. But I'm all for encouraging beginning editors - especially the ones who aren't afraid to begin with something...a little different from every single other 'straight' video in this place.
I'm downloading, but I won't promise a review (it would be a while if I wrote one). I'll try to drop some feedback, though, in the spirit of encouragement. Just don't bash Windows Movie Maker and we'll get along fine. ^_^

I'm kinda surprised Sarah hasn't said anything about this...Arigatomyna wrote:As to the vid - I've never seen Hellsing the anime, or the movie that came out a while back (or any animated short spun off either of the two) and I've never read anything about the name.
But reading what Tenebra has said about this movie, it's very likely that it has absolutely nothing to do with Hellsing (ex.: nobody named Carl in Hellsing).
It's just that both (as well as that live-action movie that came out earlier this year) get their names from I-can't-remember-his-first-name Van Helsing, the character from Bram Stoker's Dracula.

I missed that, being completely sick of the whole haha-ur-ghey-lol bit that overshadowed it.
I've never heard of this particular movie, but I'm assuming all the others that borrow the Van Helsing name are playing off the character, usually having characters who are descendants of the old Dr. from the novel. (whose...name I can't remember either. My copy of Dracula is at my mom's house.) The Hellsing Organization hunts vampires, Van Helsing the godawful movie had to do with hunting vampires/werewolves/something, and so on.
Van Helsing = vampire hunters. Oddly, you don't see many other direct references to Dracula (Renfield the bug-eating human slave, Dracula's vamp wives) but for some reason everybody loves the badass vampire hunter.
