I was going to put this in General Music....but it's more an AMV-creation related question.
When you've got a remix, under which artist do you put it? The problem I'm having is with my new Aphex Twin CD, "26 Mixes for Cash", which is a collection of remixes of their own and others songs, as well as mixes they did for the songs themselves (the final or original mixes of the songs).
So, I have this song that's actually not too bad, but if and when I decide to AMV it, how would I put it in the database/tag the video?
a) DMX Krew - "You Can't Hide Your Love (Hidden Love Mix)"
b) Aphex Twin/DMX Krew - "You Can't Hide Your Love (Hidden Love Mix)"
c) Aphex Twin - "DMX Krew - You Can't Hide Your Love (Hidden Love Mix)"
Or perhaps some other option?
Attributing a remix?

Erm, well... when I did Dueling Videos: Under Ice, I credited both of the original artists and the guy who did the mix. But when I did The NERV Evening News with Dan Rather a few months prior, I only credited the people who did the mix; I didn't credit Dan Rather or AC/DC. But I haven't gotten any complaints yet.
But of course, this is probably best answered by the people in charge.

"Under Ice" is a special case...so I can doing what you did there, for that.
"Rocked by Rape" is the original mix of the song, so attributing it to it's creators is no problem, either.
Still confused...anyone have an answer?

You arent really using the original song..But you prolly want th orig band to be credited...
But if ya want the orig band to be credited, I would go with C).
I did an AMV with a song called 'Everywhere' by Yellowcard, which was origianlly compsed by Michelle Branch, and I put the artist/song title like this:
Yellowcard - Everywhere (Michelle Branch Cover)
I dont know..It might just fall under the Creator's preference in the end...

OK. That's probably how I'll do it (it's how it's done on the CD anyway). Thanks.
